Welcome MAsT: Gainesville and Welcome Back MAsT: Fresno! We're glad you're both here!

kara-shishi is our newest MAsT Board member. She is the Marketing Director we've been long searching for! 🎉🎉🎉 She was born in Venezuela and enriched by the cultural experiences of France, while blending Slavic and Latin heritage into her unique identity. kara-shishi speaks English, French, and Spanish fluently and almost exactly one year ago, she became an American citizen! We're so glad she's here and volunteering her time and energy to help get the word out about MAsT and what an awesome organization we are!

Over the last year, MAsT: Auckland has led a complete revival of our chapter with a focus on community, support, and most critically: education.

While many chapters returned post-Covid to in-person meetings, MAsT: Auckland decided to leverage off the demand in online education and run all our sessions on Zoom, with a focus on opening up to those across Australia and then broader into other countries who had an M/s & D/s community, but no chapters.

Over the 12 months we’ve had the pleasure of having some of the world’s greatest minds present on all things PE. With a strong focus on diversity, we’ve had presenters from both sides of the slash, a mix of sexualities and genders, and explored different M/s concepts. We’ve been fortunate to have the likes of Sinclair Sexsmith, Raven & joshua, and RopeTigerDaddy this year with The Goddess Indigo and Dr. bob kicking off our efforts for 2024. Next year, we already have five confirmed presenters for our 10 planned sessions.

Under our new model we’ve now had:

• 10 (monthly) sessions
  
• Covered 10 unique subjects including high protocol, spiritually in M/s, bootblacking, PE and Poly, authenticity in PE plus explored a range of dynamic types including Gorean and pets.
  
• We advertise in 10 countries and dozens of regions & towns on both Fetlife and other platforms including Eventbrite.
  
• We attract around 300 - 600 RSVPs with a 20% conversion rate of actual attendees on the low side, unsure of how many attendees have more than one participant at their end.
  
• We keep the high level data and have provided education to well over 500 people in 2023.
  

It has been a pleasure and an honour to provide access to MAsT’s values and education to those who would otherwise not be able to participate. And we are humbled by the wealth of time and experience offered by our more learned peers across the globe.

• How many years have you been interested/involved in power exchange relationships?
  I've been involve into power exchange relationships properly since 2007, with my ex wife and the relationship we had exploring BDSM games and D/s relationships, but the first years it was just exploring, tastings and living more into the daily life of work and vanilla responsibilities, also breaking the mind from the society rules and tabues. By 2012, I got involved into the BDSM Community, my ex wife and I split, then P.E. dynamics became more important.
  
• How long have you been a MAsT member? What is your role(s) in MAsT?
  Since March 2019, when we asked Master Taino to help us to go through the process to request a chapter. I am the Director of the Chapter
  
• What benefits have you found being a member of MAsT?
  I found a big, amazing, lovely family in leather. Also got the support we needed to continue with activities and meetings
  
• What is a highlight in your power exchange journey?
  The experience that allowed me to learn more from the people around me and specially from a partner who changed my M/s,D/s perspective and provide me with the tools to manage my energy, the awakening was amazing
  
• What’s a low moment in your power exchange journey and how did you recover or what did you learn from it?
  Personal experiences and relationships sometimes get mixed with the duty behind the community and the director duties, I've experienced many low moments where the only light on the road was the leather family and community, showing me that you always have someone with a helping hand and a warm chest to hug you
  
• What’s an interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?
  Well...one of the many skills that I got from my dad and grandpa (DNA) is the love for handcrafted furniture, so I love to work with lumber. I opened a business as a furniture maker (kinky one).
  
• Do you have any advice for people new to power exchange relationships or new chapter directors?
  If you are planning to get into P.E. relationships, your mind is curious about the kinky like and looooove to be in a Ds/Ms relationship, don't hesitate to get close to a MAsT chapter or even open one, you have a big worldwide family to support you, many friend everywhere, and you will be witness of the joy to be finally free of the vanilla chains, to delight into the steel chains of chocolate (insert a drooling emoticon)
  
• What’s your favorite quote and why?
  De parvis grandis acervus erit, Those small things and steps will guide us or become big and successful.
  
• Anything else you’d like to add?
  Thanks to those who dedicate the efforts, energy and love to get MAsT running in every state and country, our work will always be important to those that will come after us.
