AP EXAMS
AP Exams will begin on Monday, May 1st and run through Thursday, May 11th.
For morning exams, students should report directly to their testing site. There is no need to report to their first set classes for attendance purposes. The main testing site is in the B-Gym. Be sure to arrive outside the B-Gym, in front of Door #22 located next to the bus loop, by 7:40am for morning exams and 11:40am for afternoon exams.
Students should bring: number two pencils, black/dark blue ink pens, and a calculator (for specific tests). For students taking a digital exam (AP World, AP US History, AP English Language, and AP English Literature) please be sure to shut down laptop the night before and plug it in so you will have a fully charged device for the exam.
When the exam is complete, all students are expected to return to their normally scheduled classes. The cafeteria will be open between 11:00am – 11:30am for those students whose exams interfere with their lunch set.
Don’t forget to get a good night’s sleep and eat a nutritious meal before the exam.
Please contact Mrs. Davern with any specific questions regarding the upcoming exams.
Good luck!

District Code of Conduct
The annual review of the District Code of Conduct will begin next month. Parent input is a critical component of the process. We are looking for 1 or 2 high school parent representatives to join the committee. The committee will make recommendations to the Board of Education on how the Code of Conduct can be improved. If you are interested or would like more information about the process, please contact Kim Muth or Jackie Davern at the high school.
Food Delivery to the High School
We have become increasingly aware that our students are purchasing food via grubhub or other food delivery services and having it delivered to the High School. While we discourage the use of food delivery services during school hours, we would like to clarify the policies and procedures that must be adhered to in order to ensure student safety:
- All food deliveries MUST be sent to the main office. Under NO circumstances should any student or adult open an exterior door during the school day to allow entry to the building or for food delivery. All students and visitors must enter through the main office between the hours of 7:30am-2pm.
- Students must pick up their orders from the main office vestibule. There will be no one monitoring deliveries and we will not follow up on "missing" orders.
- Students must follow individual teacher policies regarding eating in the classroom.
- Students are not permitted to leave class to pick up orders. Food should only be picked up during break, passing time, or lunch.
- Students picking up deliveries must arrive to class on time, there will be no excuse for tardiness.
ATTENDANCE
In the event you need to contact the school for attendance, please email highschoolattendance@hflcsd.org or call (585) 624-7088.
When leaving a message, please include the students name and reason for the attendance request; i.e. doctor /dentist appointment, college visit, slept late, etc. and who is contacting the school.
We want to make sure we accurately enter attendance for each student.
Ready to use Paper's powerful tutoring support?
The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District is happy to continue its partnership with Paper, a digital tutoring service. This service is available to all HF-L students in grades 4-12 and will provide free, unlimited access to virtual tutoring sessions. These sessions are 1:1 and are available 24 hours a day. Students can access this using their ClassLink portal.
Using Paper, students get homework help, writing feedback, and study support on demand. Teachers gain insights into learning gaps. Administrators have visibility into where support is needed.
*NEW UPDATE:
Voice Notes—a new accessibility-minded offering from Paper—is now available for all Paper users!
How does it work?
Voice Notes allows both students and tutors alike to record and send audio messages during Live Help sessions.
Sending a Voice Note in a Live Help session is simple for students: Learners simply select the microphone icon in the chat bar to send a verbal question or response. Before sending the message, they can listen back to their note at a playback speed of their choice. Voice Notes messages sent to them from tutors can also be played back, and students can see a transcription of tutors’ messages.
Which students benefit from this feature?
Paper’s Voice Notes feature will be particularly helpful for students who are actively improving their reading and writing. However, these kinds of learners can benefit as well:
- English-language learners or those who struggle with writing might find it easier to chat with a tutor via Voice Notes.
- Students who prefer to use iPads or their mobile devices to learn—or only have these tools available outside of school—can opt to send Voice Notes rather than typing out longer questions.
- Voice Notes are helpful for students who prefer “talking it out,” or articulating their thoughts verbally.
