Rockets Report
August 2022
Welcome From Ms. Marsh
Dear Rocket Families,
On behalf of the staff at Royal Oaks School of the Arts, I am happy to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! We are looking forward to an amazing year and are excited about partnering with you to ensure our Rockets achieve their highest potential. We are eager to have students in our classrooms and hallways, filling the building with energy and enthusiasm for learning.
Royal Oaks is proud to continue celebrating our distinction as an A+ School of the Arts. Our teachers have specialized training through the A+ Schools Network in order to weave the arts into every aspect of a child’s learning. It is our mission to use the arts as an inspiration for engagement, creativity, collaboration, and lifelong learning. At Royal Oaks School of the Arts we have talented and dedicated teachers who spend hours planning and creating learning experiences that will bring energy and excitement into the classroom, making learning truly fun and meaningful for our scholars. We utilize a hands-on approach to teaching and look for natural ways to bring the arts into every classroom.
Your feedback is important to us in achieving our goal as a School of Excellence. Therefore, we solicit your suggestions for school improvement and encourage you to stop by, join in, and share your ideas with us at any time. We look forward to an exciting new year of continued collaboration where our motto is – “Creativity sparks engagement. Art ignites learning.”
I am honored to serve as the principal of Royal Oaks School of the Arts and it is truly a privilege to be part of a community where parents, teachers and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth. Please feel free to contact me any time at 704-260-6310 or at melody.marsh@cabarrus.k12.nc.us .
Once again, welcome back Rocket families! Let’s make this the BEST year at Royal Oaks School of the Arts!
Sincerely,
Melody Marsh

Grading Policy
Standards Based Grading
Middle school will be using traditional grades for the 2022-2023 school year. These grades can be accessed via PowerSchool weekly. PowerSchool Parent Portal is a valuable resource that allows parents to monitor their student's academic progress.
*Please note that PowerSchool Parent Portal ID Letters and set up instructions will be sent to families in early September for the 2022-2023 school year.
ROSA Clubs
Because of limited availability with each club, we will do a lottery drawing to pick participants for each club.
Transportation is not provided for clubs.
MTSS-Multi-Tiered Systems of Support
Royal Oaks follows the MTSS process to meet the needs of all of our students--academically, behaviorally, and social-emotionally. For more information about the MTSS process, please visit our website here.

Title 1 Information
Supply Fee
Cabarrus County Schools collect a $20.00 supply and technology fee from each student. Funds collected are used to help offset the reduction in the instructional supply budget that has been incurred over the past few years.
The fee is $20.00 per student per school year. All fees collected will be used at the school where the student is enrolled.
Parents may pay the fee by sending it to the school with their student(s) or they may pay online through the school’s website here.
Become a Volunteer!
If you are a parent, a family member, or a community person desiring to serve as a school volunteer then you are required to have a background check.
Examples of how school volunteers may be used include field trip chaperones, classroom volunteers, assisting with enrichment opportunities, etc.
All forms and information are completed online and can be accessed by clicking HERE.
