First Day of School Tuesday, August 8, 2023 - 8:30 am - 3:40 pm
Dear Amazing Families of Madison Park,
Thank you for a great turnout for our Meet the Teacher Night! We had almost 60% of our families visit campus and meet their child’s teacher. We are excited to welcome back all of our students on Tuesday, 8/8/23. Any 6-8th graders that have their student ID from the previous year, please make it a habit of bringing it with you to school every day. All new students and anyone who cannot find their student ID will receive a new ID within the first week of school. Please continue to read this newsletter to find information on our drop off/pick up procedures, volunteer opportunities, important dates and much more.
Sincerely,
Priscilla Gossett Rebecca Galindo
Madison Park Principal Assistant Principal
Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures
On August 8th, if you are dropping off your child, follow the parent drop of signs in the front of the school. Students will enter campus through the gate by the baseball field, just east of the school office. Remember that even though Phase 1 of our rebuild is complete, other parts of campus will still be under construction as Phase 2 starts. For this reason, we will not be at full capacity for parking this year.
Watch this video to see our drop off and pick up procedures for car drop off, bus and walkers.
Line up spots - Reminder, students are not allowed on campus until 8:10 am.
If you would like to accompany your student on campus the first day of school, you are welcome to do so. Campus opens at 8:10 am and when the first bell rings at 8:25 please exit campus. From 8:10 - 8:25 am students may go to the cafeteria to eat breakfast or hang out on the baseball field. When the 8:25 am bell rings, students will line up in their designated homeroom spot and wait for their teacher to accompany them into the buildings. No students are allowed to enter the buildings without a teacher. We have several of our teachers on duty to help students find their way.
PTO and Volunteer Info:
Schools are stronger working together with our parents and community. It is for this reason we want to ask all of you to genuinely consider serving the Park students as part of our Parent Teacher Organization for this school year. The Parent Teacher Organization at Park will be a partnership of parents and the school working together to create an amazing environment for our students, staff and community. As part of the PTO you are guaranteed to collaborate with others and have fun! Most importantly, you will not be alone! I want to thank Missy Carrasco and Kendra Mauldin for committing to our PTO and working hard for our students. We are still in need of a Vice President and Secretary. If you are interested in these positions please email Mrs. Gossett at pgossett@madisoned.org. We are looking forward to having many volunteers and events on campus this year and we need your support to make them successful. We look forward to working with you. Mark your calendars for our first PTO meeting of the year on Tuesday, August 15th 4:30 - 5:30 pm.
Be ready to volunteer at Park this year by registering on the district website. Volunteers will be needed around campus, on field trips and PTO events. Volunteering is a great way to stay connected to your child's education. Volunteers will be permitted on Madison campuses with approval from site administration. Parent/guardian volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application. The volunteer application can be completed online here.
