Fundraising Update & PAC Initiatives
Fundraising Update: With your support, PAC has raised $13,753 of our initial $15,000 fundraising goal! With your generous contributions, we have been able to fund several new clubs and other student activities. Coming into this school year, PAC was unsure of how much financial support would be necessary to support student and staff initiatives. While we set the initial goal at 3 times the amount we struggled to raise each year since the start of the pandemic, our estimates did not fully anticipate the demand and requests for grants currently exceed our fundraising goal. It is clear that we have more work to do and we thank you in advance for your continued contributions to the Unfundraiser and support of our upcoming fundraising events.
Current Initiatives: PAC is currently collaborating with administration on the following initiatives. While we hope to make each of these a reality, we cannot guarantee that will be the case. Support for these initiatives is largely contingent on feasibility, funds raised, volunteer commitment, and obtaining the appropriate approvals. If you have an interested in assisting with one or more of these initiatives, please email qms.pac@gmail.com or join us at next meeting and we will put you to work!
- Neon Dance – PAC, Tri-M, and Student Council hosted the Neon Dance last Friday, February 9th 6:30-8:30 pm in the QMS Cafeteria. We would like to extend or gratitude and thanks to teachers, staff, administrators, Student Council, Tri-M, and ALL of the family volunteers that came together to make this dance a huge success! Over 300 tickets were sold and the kids seemed to have a wonderful time!
- 8th Grade Banquet – This years’ 8th grade end of year celebration will be themed “A Night at the Tropics” will be held at a local (in Mansfield) hotel on June 17th 6-9 pm. In order for this event to be a success, we will need at least 27 8th grade parents/guardians to serve as chaperones. In order to chaperone, parents/guardians must have a valid CORI on file with Mansfield Public Schools. Additional details will be provided once they are available.
A Night at the Tropics ~ 8th Grade Banquet
Each year PAC sponsors the annual 8th grade banquet to celebrate the official end of middle school. Historically this celebration has been a Hawaiian-themed event held outdoors in the QMS courtyard with a DJ and pizza. At the beginning of this year, Administration received feedback that students and families would like to enhance this experience and PAC has been working diligently on alternatives to celebrate this milestone. However, support for any PAC initiative is largely contingent on feasibility, funds raised, volunteer commitment, and obtaining the appropriate approvals.
As communicated in the January PAC Newsletter, we hope to hold “A Night at the Tropics” at a local hotel June 17th 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm. However, as with all PAC initiatives, this is contingent on feasibility, funds raised, volunteer commitment, and obtaining the appropriate approvals. Unfortunately, the proposals we have received far exceed the cost of any prior end of year celebration and we have yet to secure the minimum (27) chaperones necessary to hold the event off of school grounds.
Though we have had a number of parents/guardians express interest, only 18 have a valid Criminal Offender Record Inquiry (CORI) on file. We are in the process of following up with those who have expressed interest but do not yet have a valid CORI on file. Please use the link below to let us know if you are willing to chaperone or volunteer for the event. If you've already submitted your response, you do not need to resubmit it.

In order to chaperone, parents/guardians must have a valid CORI on file with Mansfield Public Schools EACH YEAR*. To volunteer for this event, please stop by the Main Office to complete a CORI form no later than February 14th. Don’t forget to bring a valid MA state issued ID with you.
Rest assured that if it is not possible to hold the event elsewhere, the celebration will take place on school grounds as has been customary for many, many years. We will keep you informed as final decisions are made.
*Previously communicated as every two (2) years by the school and PAC. PAC has been notified CORI forms need to be updated annually.
