Patriot Peek at the Week News

Don't forget! There is no school tomorrow, Friday 10/7 or Monday, 10/10 for Columbus Day. We will greet student back at Wolf Ridge on Tuesday for a four-day week. Thank you to all of our parents/guardians that met with our staff during Parent Teacher Conferences this week. We value your partnership in helping your child grow and fulfill his/her potential at Wolf Ridge.

This coming week will be Safety Week. We will be reviewing our safety procedures again with students. We have invited the local fire department to come to our school on Thursday. We will conduct a fire drill, learn about fire safety from the firefighters, and explore their trucks. This is a great time to review your fire escape plan and meeting spot with your child for your home, too. On Friday, students will participate in a lockdown drill with local law enforcement. While these procedures have already been discussed with students and staff, we want to make sure to practice with drills and review often. Safety is our top priority at our school.

The fire department will be present for this fire drill. They will bring their trucks for students to explore and teach students about fire safety.

Law enforcement will be present at this drill on this date to provide feedback on our safety procedures.

Wolf Ridge has one fundraiser each year. This monies raised during this fundraiser are used for special activities and incentives for students. In past years, we have raised enough money to also add to our playground. We have added swings, soccer goals, and a sensory obstacle course with funds raised. Each year, I will ask our Student Council to vote on what they would like to add to the playground. My hope is that we can do this again!

All students were sent home with an order form on Thursday. There is a QR code in the bottom left corner that can be scanned to set up an online store if you would prefer to complete all sales online.

Please consider participating even if just selling one item. While there are prizes outlined in the brochure, we have additional incentives for our Wolf Ridge Students.

All orders WITH payment need to be turned in by October 17th. Pick up will be on November 7th from 3:00-6:00 at the Wolf Ridge Cafeteria. (There is a typo on the form stating 11/8. There will be no school on this day so this is incorrect.) Thank you again for supporting our school!

On October 24, 2022 the Lady Patriots will be playing Staunton in a 6:00pm game at Bunker Hill High School. During this game we will be taking donations that will be going to St. Jude Cancer Research Center. We are also selling t-shirts, the proceeds from the shirts will also go to the Organization. If you are interested in purchasing a shirt, please contact Mr. Steward at ksteward@bhcusd.org by Friday October 7, 2022. The Cost per shirt is $15.00.

We will have special dress-up days throughout this week. Students will learn about drug prevention and awareness throughout the week, also.

Students are encouraged to wear school appropriate costumes on this day. Class parties will take place in the afternoon. The Junior High Boo Bash will take place in the evening. More information will be coming home soon about events for this day.
