Wednesday, February 14, 2024- Half Day for students/Collaborative Day for teachers. James Clemens will release at 12:15pm.

Monday, February 19, 2023- SCHOOL CLOSED for President's Day

• NO CHECKOUTS allowed after 3:00 PM

• Students are allowed 5 parent notes PER semester. If your student is out of parent notes then any tardy or absence will be unexcused without a doctor's excuse. You can monitor your students attendance in PowerSchool as well.

How to Upload an Excuse to PowerSchool-

We now have the Absence Form available in PowerSchool Parent Portal. Submitting an Absence Excuse can now be easily done through your phone or device. Please see the directions below.

1. Open the PowerSchool App on your Phone
2. Click on More at the very Bottom of the screen right below the 3 dots
3. Click on FORMS
4. Click on Student Absence Form
5. Enter the information, upload document if available, SUBMIT

OR

1. Log into the Parent Portal Account on your computer (https://madisoncs.powerschool.com/public)
2. Click on FORMS in the left Navigation Bar
3. Click on the Student Absence Form
4. Enter the information, upload document if available, SUBMIT

Please be patient with us as we enter your attendance excuses. Due to the high volume of absences it can take up to 48 hours for the excuse to be entered.

Graduation Supplies-

Above you will find a senior flyer that contains a QR code or CLICK HERE to get to the JDR website where you can order a cap and gown and other senior supplies.

Important Dates

April 26th- Senior Day! Cost is $100 and this is OPTIONAL! You will only need to pay this if your senior wants to participate. The fee covers a t-shirt, Chick Fil A breakfast, lunch at Dave and Buster's, and a $20 card to play at Dave and Buster's. The deadline to pay the Senior day fee is December 1st and can be paid online.

April 26th- We will have a senior meeting, which will be held in the gym at 2 pm. All seniors MUST attend the meeting, regardless of whether or not they participated in senior day activities.

May 14th, 6:00pm- Senior Awards Night, James Clemens Auditorium

May 20th- Graduation, VBCC, time-TBA

College and Scholarship Information

Please keep track of all offers of scholarships from all schools you have been accepted to for Mrs. Meskunas. She will need this information later on in March.

The James Clemens Girl's and Boy's Basketball teams will be playing in the Regional Tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 14th at Wallace State Community College. The boy's team will play at 10:30 AM and the girls team will play at 12:00 PM.

Students will be allowed to attend the game if they turn in a permission form signed by a parent. Students are allowed to provide their own transportation or they can ride the student fan buses. The cost to ride the bus is $10. Money for the bus and a permission form must be turned in before 3:00 PM on Tuesday. Students providing their own transportation must have a permission form turned in before 3:00 PM on Tuesday.

In order to be excused from school, all students must check in at the game with one of the designated administrators or faculty chaperones.

The bus will be leaving JC at 9:00 AM. Students should be prepared to eat lunch at the arena. The bus will return to JC immediately following the game and should be back by 3:00 PM. All students have a ride at the school to pick them up upon arriving back at the school since Wednesday is a 1/2 day of school.
