Wolf Ridge Minutemen and Minutemaid News for 8/21-8/25
Dear Wolf Ridge Students and Families,
We had a successful first few days of the school year at Wolf Ridge! We are excited to welcome our preschool students for their first day of school on Monday. Students and staff are getting back into the school routine and will be diving into our curriculum this coming week.
Junior high baseball and softball are in full swing! Come cheer them on at their next home game. Many of their games are played at the same time so it easy to go back and forth to cheer on both our Minutemen and Minutemaids. Girls basketball will also be starting soon. Check out the baseball and softball schedules below, as well as information about girls' basketball tryouts.
We need your support! Please consider joining the Wolf Ridge PFK (Parents for Kids). Their first meeting will take place on Monday, August 28th at 6:30 in the Wolf Ridge Library. Soon, we will be having a special Wolf Ridge fundraiser kickoff. After our addition is complete, we would like to upgrade our playground this summer. This fundraiser will help us raise some of the money needed for these upgrades. We appreciate your support!
Most importantly, continue to encourage your child to be kind and do his/her best at school. We strive to help all of our students to fulfill their utmost potential. We are building brighter futures at Wolf Ridge!
Your Principal,
Shonda Ronen

DROP OFF & PICK UP AT WOLF RIDGE
WOLF RIDGE DROP OFF:
PreK students and their siblings can be dropped off in the front circle by the cafeteria double doors. Kindergarten can drop off in the front circle on their child's first day of school only by the main entrance. Parents may walk kindergarten students into the building on the first day only. It would help if these groups do not drop off until closer to 8:00am to avoid interference with our buses. If you do drop off at the same time as the buses, please remember that you are never allowed to pass a stopped school bus.
All other students should be dropped off in the car line just off of East Alton Street anytime between 7:30-8:10. PAC students can be dropped off at this same location anytime between 6:00-8:00. We will be there to greet you each day!
If you have any questions about bussing, please contact the unit office at 618-585-3116.
WOLF RIDGE PICK UP:
If you are picking your child up from school at Wolf Ridge, you will need a car tag. Car tags will be distributed by teachers at both Kindergarten Orientation and Stop&Drop Night. If you do not get your car tag at one of our back to school events, please contact the school office at 618-585-4831. We will let you know your special number. These tags will be sent home on the first day if not picked up prior. While we have made special car tags, please feel free to write the number on a blank sheet of paper and put it in your car window so that it is visible to our dismissal crew if you forget it or don't have it on your child's first day. The numbers have changed since last year.
Students in preschool will not need a car tag as they will be picked up at the preschool double doors in front of the building by the cafeteria.
PAC students can be picked up anytime from 3:30-6:00 just inside the cafeteria. Please enter the building through the double doors in front of the cafeteria where the awning is located. Students in this program need to be signed out each day by an approved pick up person.
Students should not be dropped off prior to 7:30AM. If care is needed prior to 7:30, sign up for our before-school care.
