Mrs. Turner's Tidbits
Circle Towanda Elementary Schools are just bursting with activity! The students returned from Spring Break ready to learn! We heard lots of stories of adventures that they had while gone for the break. Too bad the weather didn’t want to cooperate! What a wild week it was, weather wise! We were just THRILLED to be back in school and in our classrooms! Yay!!! We will never take that for granted again!
We have our annual Spring Music Program coming up soon! We will hold an outdoor concert by grade level. Please be watching for more information from Mrs. Goldsmith on that. I believe we will have one week with our intermediate students and the following week with our primary students. You will need to bring your own lawn chair to use as we enjoy the children singing.
We had a great turnout for our Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences too. It is always a great opportunity to ask questions about how your child is doing at school and to share any information that is helpful for the teacher to know. I appreciate all those who were able to attend this year’s conferences. The following shows the spring conference attendance:
EC – 100% of their parents attended, Pre-K had 96%. Mrs. Baumgartel had 80%, Mrs. Cerney met with 94% of her parents, Mrs. Massey had a 90% turnout, and Mrs. Swilley met with 100% of her first grade parents. In second grade Mrs. Jacobson had 100%, and Mrs. Bair rounded out with 95%. Students from the Intermediate School had the following attendance: from third grade Mr. Taylor saw 100% of his parents and Ms. McClelland had 86%. Mrs. Anderson visited with 80% of her parents and Mrs. Cooley ended up meeting with 93% of her parents. Ms. Stearns met with 100%, Mrs. Turner had 100%, Mrs. Seivley with 84% and Mr. Krahn finished it up with 95% of his classroom parents attending. If you were unable to attend your child’s conference, please call your child’s classroom teacher if you have any questions about the information sent home.
The students have managed the spring forward time change. It is so wonderful to see the sun is still out after 7:30 at night. I am sure it does make it harder for you to get some of the younger students to bed when it is still light, but it does help us in the classroom if they are well rested each day. We appreciate the help in that department!
Let’s pray the nice temps hold. It has been wonderful getting outside. Have a great month and Happy Easter a bit early!!!UPCOMING DATES

Hello friends! My name is Ms. Davidson and I am going to be a student teacher in your classroom until the end of the year! I am so excited to meet and make music with all of you. I grew up in El Dorado, KS and I am in my last semester as a student at K-State! (Go Cats!) Next school year, I am moving to Winfield to be their music teacher. Just like Mrs. Goldsmith is for you! My family and I live in El Dorado. When I was in school, I loved being in the band and choir! Music is awesome because it helps all of us bond with each other. I am very much looking forward to having fun with all of you in music class! Let me know if you have any questions, and I am so excited to be here!

Character Trait for April ~ HOPE
State Assessments are beginning next week, please help in providing your student with the best preparation possible before testing. A good breakfast and an adequate night of sleep before a test has proven to substantially increase scores. Also having your child present when tests are being administered is very beneficial rather than having to take the make-up tests. Listed below is the schedule:

3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th grades
Science - April 7th & 8th
