BISD Board Goal 5: Improve academic achievement of all students through communication, access to information and a network of community partnerships.
A big THANKS to North Star Ranch Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for providing some sweet treats for our staff during a Professional Development Day before school started.
Bonham Chrysler, Echo Park Dealership, Greenville Chrysler, Greenville Hyundai, Nissan of Greenville, and Toyota of Mount Pleasant are all part of Sonic Automotive. These dealerships joined together and donated 90 backpacks full of supplies to the students of Finley-Oates. Thank you so much for helping take care of our little Warriors!!
BISD Board Goal 3: Ensure all students have high levels of academic achievement
with a focus on literacy and mathematics through improved leadership, instruction, support and a climate of continuous improvement.
We have had a great start to our school year. We have had the chance to meet new friends and learn procedures and practices so we can all have a fantastic school year.
BISD Board Goal 1: Provide schools which are safe, conducive to learning and support the physical, emotional and intellectual well-being of our stakeholders.
Finley-Oates Staff would like to say THANK YOU to the BISD Board and Superintendent, Kelly Trompler. We had many improvements this past summer. We have a new roof, flooring in the classrooms, and the restrooms were gutted and new plumbing fixtures and flooring installed. A Special Thanks to Jason Busbey, Claude Lewis and ALL of the BISD Maintenance Department. They all worked long hard hours to ensure our restrooms were completed before school started. We had a gas leak. Claude Lewis has worked with contracted plumbers trying to locate the leak. He has worked numerous after work hours(so as not to disturb the students during class time) on the mini excavator in 100+ degree temperatures digging up our pipes locating the problem. No gas means limited cooking. Phyllis Kinnaird and our cafeteria staff have worked very hard to ensure our students had delicious breakfast and lunch. The Finley-Oates custodians have worked long hours, including weekends, to ensure all of our floors were waxed and our building was in tip top shape even though it had been in a construction zone all summer long. The saying is "It takes a village". I am blessed to be part of a village that always puts students first!!
