Varsity Boys Bowling
On Wednesday, February 23, the Varsity boys were defeated 13 to 17 by Landmark Academy. Tyler Biggs had a high score of 187.
On February 25, Varsity Boys Bowling team competed at the Division 4 team regionals at Richfield Bowl. They ended up in 11th place overall with a score of 2467. In order of their baker games, they got scores of 144, 106, 100, 94, 135, and 114. Their three-game scores came out to 601, 558, and 585.
Some of our Varsity Boys Bowling team competed in the Individual Bowling Regionals this past Saturday. Noah Hall placed 43rd overall. His six-game scores are 103, 144, 195, 112, 137, and 128. His overall score came out to 819. Close behind, Tyler Biggs placing 44th. His overall score was 816 with his individual games being 130, 101, 123, 134, 180, and 148. In 51st place was Michael Hickmott with an overall of 743. His games were 115, 120, 126, 112, 147, and 123. Matthew Hickmott placed 62nd overall. His game scores were 121, 112, 86, 124, 128, and 83 adding up to a total of 654. Connor Wolff placed 64th overall with a total score of 638, his scores were 110, 98, 111, 104, 119, and 96. The boys bowled great this weekend and the whole season. We can't wait to see where they will be next year!
Varsity Girls Bowling
On Monday, February 21, the Dryden Girls Bowling team bowled against Memphis at Hideaway Lanes in Almont. The girls won their meet against Memphis, earning 19 out of 30 points. Our highest bowler was a sophomore who bowled a 129 in her first match and 138 in her second. Our next highest bowler was senior Joanna Livingston who bowled 124 in her first match and 125 in her second match. Amazing job, girls!!
On Wednesday, February 23, the Dryden Varsity Girls Bowling team bowled against Landmark Academy at Hideaway Lanes. The girls won the meet against Landmark Academy, obtaining 26 out of 30 points. The highest bowler was a sophomore who bowled a 107 in her first match and a 127 in her second match. The next highest bowler was freshman Mikayla Fleming who bowled 119 in her first match and 96 in her second match. Great job girls!!
On Friday, February 25, the Dryden Varsity Girls Bowling team went to Richfield Bowl in Flint, Michigan to bowl as a team at regionals held by MHSAA. As a team, the girls placed 8th out of a region of nine teams. The Dryden Girls Bowling team acquired 2,349 points total from six bakers and three games. The girls bowled rigorously and performed amazingly as a team, representing Dryden bowling at Region 23 bowling regionals. On Saturday, February 26, the Dryden Varsity Girls Bowling team went back to Richfield Bowl to bowl at individual bowling regionals. The girls did such an amazing job and the atmosphere was electric as bowlers were performing for the chance to make it to MHSAA Girls Bowling Finals. Senior Joanna Livingston qualified for states, placing 10th out of 55 bowlers in Region 23! Joanna bowled a total score of 863 for her six games! Great job, Joanna, for qualifying for states! Great job, girls, for bowling your best and representing Dryden! You did magnificently and had such an amazing season! Joanna Livingston will be bowling at the MHSAA Girls Bowling Finals at M-66 Bowl in Battle Creek on March 5. Good luck, Joanna!

6th and 7th Grade Basketball Mayville 2/9
The boys put on an impressive game on February 9. Under the guidance of coach Dan Peter, they won 34-14 against their opponent Mayville. Keep it up, boys!!!
8th Grade Basketball Mayville 2/9
The eighth graders played an exciting game against Mayville. In the end, they won with a score of 38-32 under their coach Hunter Gall. Keep going, Dryden!!!
7th Grade Basketball North Huron 2/14
In this game, Dryden dominated the field. They ended up winning 41-11 against North Huron.
8th Grade Basketball North Huron 2/14
The boys nearly destroyed North Huron with an end score of 52-12.
Junior Varsity Boys Basketball
On Tuesday, February 22, the Junior Varsity boys went up against Lakeville. They won with a close score of 31-28! The leading scorers were Jaylin Taylor, 9 points; Dylan Woolner, 6 points; and David Insley with 6 points. Congratulations, boys!
On Friday, February 24, the Junior Varsity boys basketball team faced Deckerville at home. They won with an overall score of 38-34! The leading scorers were Jaylin Taylor, 12 points; Hunter Hughes, 6 points; and Jacob Buffo with 6 points. Magnificent job, boys!

The boys played their last home game on February 24. They ended up losing, but the gym was loud, and the game was intense. Let's look at the numbers the boys put up in the contest against Deckerville.
Jacob Burgess led the Cardinals with 22 points and 4 assists, followed by Merrick Maris with 17 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 6 boards. Sonny Coscione had 10 points and Dylan Ledford contributed with 8 points. Zack Lemke had 2 points, 8 boards, and 2 assists.
After the game, the coach said, "We played very poorly in the first half. However, we came back and played hard in the second half and got within 4 a couple of times." The Cardinals will play their last game of the regular season on Tuesday. Good luck to the boys. Go Cardinals!
