From the Principal's Desk
August 23, 2021
Greetings FWAFA Family,
Things are getting smoother with our drop-off and pick-up routines. Thank you for your patience. Please remember not to drop-off students in the outer lanes of the vending machine entrance nor the front lobby entrance. Please drop off in the lane closest to the school for everyone's safety. FWAFA's parking lot is a NO CELL PHONE ZONE. Just a kindly reminder to put away the cellphones while dropping off and picking up your student.
Also, please be mindful of our drop-off times. We will start counting tardies next Monday. A student with 3 tardies to school is issued a Silent Lunch Detention. Thanks for partnering with us on everyone being on time to school each day.
We have Meet the Teacher Night coming up this Thursday, August 26 for grades 3-6 parents and the following Thursday on September 2 for grades 7-12 parents. We look forward to seeing everyone here.
Creatively yours,
Dr. Jackson

Tools and Materials Donation Drive for Theatre Department
A Message From Our Technical Director, Ben Phillips.
The FWAFA Technical Theatre Department is hosting a Tools and Materials Donation Drive for the 21-22 school year! As we begin to ramp up FWAFA productions again, the cost of materials that we use to create sets, props, etc. is crazy due to the pandemic! In response, we thought we'd reach out to the community to help us so we can continue to produce the same high-quality productions that you've grown to expect from our talented students!
The event will run from Monday, August 30 to Saturday, September 11.
There are several ways you can contribute:
1.) We have set up a Donation Registry asking for help purchasing specific materials that we commonly use to create productions. Information on this registry, a link, and instructions will be distributed via this newsletter, FWAFA social media, and Tech Theatre & Theatre classes once the event begins next week.
2.) If you would like to make a monetary donation towards producing our performances, there will be an option within our registry for you to do so.
3.) Do you have building materials or tools in your garage that you just don't know what to do with? Bring them to us! We will be at the school Saturday, September 11 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., and you can bring us anything you don't have a use for anymore. Anything we decide not to use will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.
Thank you all for your help and we are so excited for an amazing year!
Attendance Notes to attendance@fwafa.org
If your student is tardy or absent, please send notes to attendance@fwafa.org. Also, a student needs to bring in a doctor or parent note within 3 days after the absence.
PTSO Membership Drive!
Our PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization) is an amazing supporter of our school! Membership fees and parent involvement benefits our staff and students. Through the PTSO’s hard work and dedication last year, they purchased 60 Chromebooks, a piano for the lobby, a new water fountain, upgraded the wifi throughout the school building, provided grants to teachers to purchase supplies for their classrooms, hosted monthly staff appreciation breakfasts, provided two $1,000 senior scholarships, and each year they organize our Family Ambassador program.
