McKay High School Weekly Update

We have arrived to the final stretch. This week brings forward the final days for the class of 2023. We would like to thank all of our families for the support that you have shown your students the past four years. We hope that your student(s) feels honored this next week, and wish them plenty of luck moving forward.

For those of you with Freshmen, Sophomore, or Junior students please be sure to make note of the "Finals Week Schedule," that you will find below. These days will come and go rather quickly, therefore if you have questions regarding your student's grades, please contact their classroom teacher. Open communication is a great way to assure that your student experiences success at the end of this school year.

This past week brought us the end to all of our Spring Sports. Two of our athletes managed to make it to the State Track and Field meet held at Heyward Field in Eugene. As you will see below they not only qualified for the event, but they performed well enough to receive a medal. Congratulations to both of these athletes.

This upcoming Friday June 2nd the photography work of several of our students will be featured at the Little Leaf Café in Silverton Oregon. The student's work will remain featured throughout the month of June and be available for purchase by anyone interested.(More Information below)

The Oak Park Church of God would like to introduce the Wellness Table to our McKay Community. It is designed to be a hub for helping people in East Salem, particularly our houseless friends. There are community resources available during this time in addition to the coffee, food and showers (see flyer). Every week guests will find: Arches – mobile showers; Church at the Park – signing people up for micro shelters; DHS – signing people up for snap. Other agencies will be available monthly.
