What's Happening at Griffis

It has been a GREAT start to the new school year. Our staff and students have been excited to be back! Our teachers have enjoyed seeing all of our returning and new students at Griffis. Our goal at Griffis this year is relationships with students, parents, staff and our community! We have set goals as a campus to achieve this and we are excited to implement what we have planned. We partnered with PTO for our first BIG event. Our Griffis Back to School event was a blast!

Griffis is here to educate your children and provide the supports needed for an amazing school year. The health and safety of our students and staff is a top priority. We appreciate each of our parents and the support you have given us as we navigate changes to help us achieve our priorities! Our new walker dismissal has been what we needed to address our safety concerns with dismissal. THANK you for working with us and your patience as we changed procedures this week. Your partnership is important to us and vital for the success of this school year.

Wow! The Griffis Elementary PTO Back to School Bash was AWESOME. Thank you to our Griffis community and families for a FUN FILLED night.

We are excited to host our first Lunch on the Lawn of the new school year this Friday, Sept. 2. If you plan on attending, fill out the RSVP below by Thursday, Sept. 1. We anticipate a large crowd, so arrive early in order to park and make your way to the side soccer field. You may park in the front or back of Griffis. It's going to be a great day!

If you are a senior citizen and have not received your season pass yet, you can pick it up at the high school. If you do not have it tonight for the games, we will allow you to enter. Come out and support your FOXES!

CMISD Education Foundation's Biggest Fundraiser of the year - CASINO NIGHT - presented by Platinum Chevrolet Cadillac, is coming up - OCTOBER 22ND! The Watch D.O.G.S. Program brings male role models such as dads, stepdads, grandpas, uncles, etc. into the school for the betterment of the school, the students, and the community!!

Students not in the building by the 8:00 A.M. bell are considered tardy. Please refer to our campus handbook regarding our tardy policy. If your child is tardy, please do not drop your child off. For their safety, your child should be signed in. Please come to the front to sign them in.

Each month, we will focus on a particular character trait. Mrs. Wygal will give daily announcements regarding that trait to help the students put it into action. Each month, teachers will be looking for positive referrals from their class that they feel has best demonstrated the monthly trait. The trait for the month of September is Trust. Also, please see the monthly parent newsletter below.
