Phase Class: Lee Jun Fan Gung Fu/Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts

Sabens Martial Arts Academy’s Jeet Kune Do program is a functional blend of Muay Thai Boxing, Filipino Kali, and Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do training concepts. This program blends the explosive striking of Muay Thai, the craftiness of Filipino Kali, with the fighting concepts of the late Bruce Lee. Our program takes a technical approach to training with an emphasis on developing advanced stand up striking and stick/knife fighting fundamentals.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

The Gracie family took the Martial Arts world by storm when they dominated the first wave of Mixed Martial Arts events held in the United States. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu originated in Brazil in the early 1900’s and is considered to be one of the most effective fighting systems in the world today! The goal of BJJ is to nullify the power and striking of an attacker by getting in close and taking the attacker to the ground. On the ground, the Jiu Jitsu practitioner seizes the power and speed of his opponent by patiently gaining a dominant holding position and setting up a flow of finishing locks and chokes. This gentle art allows the practitioner to end an altercation without throwing a single strike.
