Hello Mill Valley Families,

We appreciate our partnership with the Tess Corners Fire Department and want to thank them for coming to visit Mill Valley Elementary this week. Every class got to see a fire truck and ambulance up close and hear all about fire safety. We captured some fun photos...see below.

Chronic Absenteeism is defined as missing 10% or more of the school year for ANY reason (including doctor excused absences). Historically, in the Muskego Norway Schools, our percent in attendance is high. Last year it averaged 96.37% at the elementary level. While that is an awesome number that should be celebrated, think of the 74 students (3.63%) that did not reach that. What can you do to increase that? What can we, at MVE, do to increase that? The “LET’S GLOW” RUN & GALA is almost HERE! Are you ready for the main event?

Here is the rundown for next week’s glow-tastic PARTY!!!

Monday: All $25 registrations are due in order to ensure a glow in the dark t-shirt.

*All other donations need to be turned in by Thursday, Oct. 24th.

Don’t stop raising those donations just yet…you still have time to earn some AWESOME GLOW incentives AND any student who raises $500 will get a ride to school in a police car with a friend and breakfast at McDonald’s with Officer Nowicki!

Monday-Friday: GLOW SALES! Get your glow gear at the PTO table before school and at lunch. All items are $1. Don’t forget about the GLOW CONTEST at the dance! 1st place is a gift card to Helium Jump Park.

Thursday: All donations are DUE!!! Your glow in the dark t-shirt and glow bracelet from registration will be sent home.

The classroom who has the most donations by Thursday will earn an ICE CREAM SUNDAE party for their class!

Friday: The “LET’S GLOW” RUN & GALA!!!

5:00pm-5:45pm: Run Check In/Registration

5:30pm: Pre-Run Dance Party with LIVE DJ

6:00pm: “LET’S GLOW” RUN Starts

7:00pm-8:30pm: GLOW GALA in the Gym

WE NEED YOU! As we approach the big day for the Glow Run, we are asking for parent volunteers to help with the course set up, registration and glow sales before the run. If you want to help, sign up HERE.

Join us on Thursday, October 31st for our Halloween Parade at Mill Valley. Families are welcome to meet in the gymnasium, entering through door #12. Doors will open at 2:15pm. The parade will start at 2:30pm. Please do not go to the classroom. Students will parade through the hallways and end in the gym for everyone to see their costumes. Your student's teacher will communicate specifics about classroom parties and if they are in need of parent volunteers.

Reminders about costumes:

• No scary or violent costumes
• No weapons
• No make-up or colored hair
• Please bring costumes to change into before the parade (do not wear costumes to school)

Save the Date for the Spooktacular event on Saturday, October 26 from 9:30am-1:00pm. This event is hosted by the Muskego High School Student Council and will take place at MHS in the cafeteria, please enter in door #16 by the Salentine gym. Admission is FREE, but they will be accepting cash donations at the door. Kids of all ages are invited to come in their Halloween costumes to play games, make crafts, and get their faces painted. Macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, fruit cups, chips, beverages, and desserts will be served. Bring your cameras for the photo stations and bucket/bags for trick-or-treating!

Save the date for Saturday, November 16 from 6-8:30pm for the Mother & Son Masquerade Ball. This is a special night out for k4-4th grade boys and their mom to enjoy dancing, laughter, activities, a photo booth, and an ice cream sundae bar. Dress is semi-formal and will take place at the cafeteria in the high school. Please click HERE for more details and registration information.

It's Destination Imagination Time Again!!!

Calling all creative, problem solvers! If you enjoy challenges, expressing yourself orally, drawing and making things then Destination Imagination is the activity for you! Please check out the information regarding Destination Imagination this year for Mill Valley.

All student/coach interest forms are due by October 30th to the Mill Valley office.
