We're proud of our students and staff for their academic achievements along with the support of our families. Working together, our district is on the right path. Most importantly, the results reflect that dedication and hard work pay off.
Yet, the academic achievements come as the Texas Education Agency prepares to change the rules to the A-F accountability system for the 2022 - 23 school year after students have already taken the test.
Chapter 39 of the Texas Education Code requires the State Education Commissioner to grade districts for the 2022 - 23 school year based on the methods put in place at the start of the school year. Nearly 250 school districts sent a letter to TEA asking the state to pause its plans to change the grading system. Almost a dozen school districts across the state have filed a lawsuit against TEA to prevent the changes from going into effect for the 2022 - 23 school year.
At the moment, it’s still unclear how the state will move forward with the accountability rating system. But what is clear is our students worked hard. We saw terrific academic gains for the 2022 - 23 school year, and we applaud our students and staff for their achievements.
