Husky Howler 12/8/23 (Guardians)

PACK Guardians,

It has been a fantastic week at Hubbard Middle School! We are holding the line on instruction, so please continue to motivate your students to try their hardest in class. Grades will be due on Friday and report cards for the second semester come out when we return. Again, we will be meeting with student failures and documenting our conversations with them regarding retention/summer school. Partner with us by getting on the parent portal to monitor your students grades/attendance. I get a notification EVERY DAY about my student's grades!

Dress Code - We are still fully enforcing the dress code. The fellas have been doing okay but the ladies are the ones we struggle with. As a reminder, here is our Dress Code that has been consistent since summer. Please help us make sure your student is properly dressed!

UIL - We are getting geared up for a UIL competition in the spring and want your student to participate! Here is a google slideshow with information that was shown to the students and they may sign up in CANVAS.

Student pictures - Who takes the BEST student pictures? MOMS AND DADS! We want YOUR awesome pictures to utilize in our yearbook for this year. I have created a google folder that you can upload them into. This has many folders inside for the different events we have had including the first day of school, sporting events, new student orientation/open house, theater, cheer, 6th grade social, homecoming, etc. Please utilize this google folder to upload your pictures!

Wednesday, January 3rd - Students return for school. It is an "A" day.

A HUGE shoutout to the Band PACK students below for making the All-Region Band!

Like a bad habit, they just keep coming back! This week they handed out candy canes and holiday cheer!

Mr. Goss is a fantastic 7th grade social studies teacher who all the kids love! We forgot to post him as our November teacher of the month.

Advisory classes are still competing in our Sources of Strength food drive that is going on all week. Don't forget to send those requested food items with your Husky!

Our staff and students are spreading holiday cheer and showing off their artistic abilities all over campus!

Our Sources of Strength student leadership team had an awesome time synergizing after school this week!

This is going to be a great event that you won't want to miss. Come check out some awesome cars at the upcoming car show. This will be held at the Tyler Legacy parking lot instead of at Hubbard!

We hope to see some Husky PACK members flying around iJump on Monday for our giveback night. Proceeds go directly back to Hubbard PTA and teachers!

Come visit our Media Center on Thursday after school to snag some free gently used books. These make for some good Christmas present and nighttime reading!

Please help us stock the Hubbard pantry! Check out the tlyer below for examples of foods we are looking for. This goes back directly to our students!

AVID Guardians, check out the flyer below to come support your student and see their career research project presentations. This will take place in the media and you can check in through the front office to get a visitor badge.

Mark your calendars because you will NOT want to miss this awesome event!

Girl Power is a one day event, hosted by the Junior League of Tyler, for 6th grade girls in Smith County. The day will be full of activities focused on self-esteem, self-defense, community involvement, volunteerism, and more.

Be sure to save the date - January 27th! More details will be coming soon!
