Mill Valley Weekly

In the month of March, we are focusing on being RESPONSIBLE. Students will receive paw prints when demonstrating responsible behaviors. During morning announcements, examples of how students can be responsible throughout the day will be shared. Each class will create a responsibility goal. These will be posted on teacher doors along with a ten frame for the class to keep track of their successes.

Thinking Students...Changing the World!

This past Saturday was a big weekend for our Destination Imagination teams. At Mill Valley we have four teams; The Astronomical Snakes, the Purple Dinosaurs, Mill Valley Tricky Tales and the Monsters and Royals. Each of these teams performed a skit which they prepared to specific expectations that were given in each of their different problems. They did absolutely wonderful jobs and they should be proud. The Purple Dinosaurs and Mill Valley’s Tricky Tales teams each took fourth place. Monster Manners got metals for performing and lastly the team Astronomical Snakes took first place. Congratulations to all the teams. You did awesome!!!!!!

THIS letter was sent to all 3rd & 4th grade parents with important information about our upcoming Forward Testing schedule. Please review and call the office if you have any questions.

Lakeview Elementary is the only Muskego-Norway school that does not have a dedicated gymnasium. Currently, Lakeview's gym doubles as a cafeteria.. The plans for a new gymnasium would optimize scheduling for phy ed, provide additional time for student lunch, and afford the community opportunities to utilize a regulation-size gym comparable to Mill Valley Elementary and Bay Lane Elementary.

We have over 40,000 hours of community-based facility use throughout the district. The facility plan includes an “Indoor Practice Facility” addition at Muskego High School. This facility would serve phy ed during the day and be available for all co-curricular activities in the evening. This facility would open opportunities for youth sports and rec programs to have greater access to our gymnasiums. This facility would also provide space for students and athletes to practice during winter and inclement weather.

Yes, it’s that time of year again where we love to show our Mill Valley Staff how much we appreciate their hard work with our students all year long. We have fun events planned for the week of May 2nd to May 6th to surprise our staff each and every day. If you are interested in providing a donation, we would be able to celebrate our staff in a BIG way. Please send in a monetary donation via check or cash with your child (please specify: Staff Appreciation Week).

We need your help to raise money to replenish our school’s sporting equipment during recess time. With MV having close to 500 students, our equipment is used every day & quite often needs to be replaced. So with the help of our MV families we hope to supply Mill Valley with two new soccer nets, footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, jump ropes and chalk.

Please keep an eye out for the Pop’s Popcorn order form being sent home with your child on Monday, March 28th.
