Dryden Early College Student Earns Associate's Degree
Congratulations to Reed Hall, who earned his
Associate's Degree in General Studies from Macomb Community College!
A Dryden Early College student, Reed completed college courses while still in high school and has completed his degree as a 13th-year student. Reed plans to earn his Bachelor's Degree at Northern Michigan University and will begin coursework there in the fall. We're so proud of you!

Varsity Girls Track

The Varsity Girls Track team went to their first quad at Mayville this past Thursday. They placed 3rd overall with a total of 52 points. There were many 1st place overalls, including Olivia Stickler in the 400 with a time of 1:07.6, Lily Finnigan in the 3200 with a time of 15:34.7, Sophia Peter in the 300 hurdles with a time of 58.1, 4x200 relay (Delaney Wolle, Peter Sophia, Keira Miller, Olivia Stickler) with a time of 2:04.0, and 4x400 relay (Delaney Wolle, Keira Miller, Peter Sophia, Olivia Stickler) with a time of 4:52.7. Sophia Peter also got second in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 19.8. In 1600, Lily Finnigan finished 3rd with a time of 7:02.0 and in Discus, Ava DeVlaminck placed 3rd with a throw of 64' 11. The 4x100 relay (Olivia Stickler, Keira Miller, Kierstyn Stankevich, Delaney Wolle) also placed 3rd with a time of 1:01.2.
Boys Varsity Track
On Thursday, April 2, the Varsity Boys Track team went to their first meet. They ran at the Mayville quad and placed 3rd overall with an overall of 44 points. Aiden Fitchett placed 1st in both the 800 and 1600. His 800 time was 2:20.1 and his 1600 time was 5:20.0. Matthew Hickmott also got first in the 300 hurdles with a time of 59.3. The boys had a lot more 2nd place overalls, including Noah Hall in the 3200 with a time of 13:24.0, Matthew Hickmott in the 110 hurdles with a time of 21.1, and Jackson Spencer in the 300 hurdles with a time of 59.9. All three boys relays also placed second. This includes the 4x200 relay (Michael Stickler, Jackson Spencer, Nathan Baughman, Matthew Hickmott) with a time of 1:56.2, the 4x400 relay (Michael Stickler, Nathan Baughman, Jackson Spencer, Aiden Fitchett) with a time of 4:30.2, and the 4x800 relay (Noah Hall, Matthew Hickmott, Jackson Spencer, Aiden Fitchett) with a time of 10:34.0.
Overall, the Track teams did very well for their first meet. They had one of the smallest teams at the meet and had a lot of 1st and 2nd's overall. Their team this year is also mainly Freshmen and Sophomores with the exception of one Junior. This week, they will be running at the Deckerville Quad on Tuesday the 12th, and the Shake Off the Rust Invitational on Thursday the 14th.
