Parent Information Night - DEA One Pill Can Kill
Please come join us for a Parent Information Night presented by the local Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). This presentation will be on Wednesday, October 11 at 6:00PM at the Lubbock-Cooper High School Performing Arts Center.
This will also serve as a preview for parents as to what will be presented to students due to HB 3908 mandating that schools provide education on fentanyl and other poisonous drugs to secondary students. In compliance with this requirement, local DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) agents will be conducting educational class assemblies titled "One Pill Can Kill" on Friday, October 20th for 6th Grade at 1:30-2:30 and 7th/8th Grade at 3:00-4:00. These assemblies aim to provide students with valuable insights into the dangers associated with drugs, particularly those in pill form, that are impacting our local community.
The primary objective of these assemblies is to empower students with knowledge about the adverse consequences of these drugs on individuals in and around the Lubbock area. By offering this information, our goal is to equip students with the awareness necessary to make informed decisions that contribute to their own safety and the well-being of their peers.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we work together to foster a safer and more informed environment for our students. If you have any questions or concerns about these class assemblies, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school administration.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students.
