I hope everyone had a healthy and happy holiday break. We are happy to be back for 2023 and can't wait to dig into more learning and connection. We are excited to kick off the new year with inspirational acts of kindness. We are looking forward to a special event where Brian Williams, will be teaching us how acts of kindness can be an integral part of bully-prevention actions on January 18th. Please see below for more information.

For many, the start of a new year brings on reflection and celebration.

This past semester I have personally enjoyed watching:

  • Classes spanning from 4K all the way up to 5th grade, taking a much deserved brain break via a fun, safe, indoor snowball fight

  • Small groups working together in math problem solving teams

  • Animated and lively discussions on classroom books - we all have opinions to share/debate!

  • Some outstanding projects on regional geography

  • Colonies rise and fall, while learning about government, through a colonial simulation project

  • Students supporting each other through roller skating triumphs (with a few falls)

  • Students creating some amazing art work for display,

  • Children digging into digital learning, paired with literacy-rich activities, in the library

  • Students learning about the culture and importance of the Day of the Dead in Spanish class

  • Although they may be young, some early elementary classes produced exceptional sports and weather newscasts, utilizing a green screen

  • and ALL of our students singing and dancing their hearts out at an amazing winter concert, directed by the incredible Mrs. Kukla

And much more ... I probably didn't remember the list!!

We are celebrating all the great work this past semester, and wrapping up assessments for the end of the semester with Records Day on 1/20/23. In February we not only celebrate Valentine's Day, but also family-teacher connections with Parent/Teacher Conferences on February 14th and 16th. We look forward to connecting with you then!

Wed. January 18th 2023: Kindness in Action- school level presentations with a parent evening 5:30-6:30 too!

Kohler Public Schools are excited to host Brian Williams, a nationally known speaker on Kindness. We are excited to have Brian Williams, a nationally known speaker on Kindness join us on January 18th to discuss how kindness builds an inclusive community and is a part of bully prevention. Brian will present at school to all students (elementary/middle and high school) and to the broader Kohler community. His message will be tailored to each school as he discusses how kindness builds an inclusive community where all feel welcome and empowered to do their best.

Our KSF's PTO is sponsoring a school supply buffet!

Our classrooms could use YOUR help! As the school year marches on, student supplies are running low in

some classrooms. ES, MS, and HS teachers would be thrilled if we could help with the following items:

  • *pencils, *colored pencils, pens, highlighters, Sharpies, dry-erase markers
  • looseleaf paper, single subject notebooks, Post-it notes, construction paper, notecards
  • *Scotch tape, *staplers, *staples, *Gorilla tape
  • *Kleenex/tissues


Please send donated items or send $ money labeled PTO Supply Donation to the Front Office by

Wednesday, January 18 and PTO can shop on the 19th . Teachers will get the chance to “Shop the Supplies Buffet” during their PD Day on January 20th.

PBIS Focus January = Emotional Management getting the balance right

We had a great assembly where we celebrated some great things going on in school including: gymnastic routines in gym, revealing our 5th grade sticker design for the Bomber store and reviewing some special events like when Mr. Stokes brought some live animal fun in and we watched some video with Mr. Lucky and students drumming together. We also introduced our emotional management theme for January with a guessing game with some familiar characters from the movie Inside Out.
