Need to Know Information
Permission Slips for Stike Zone: A permission slip for the third and final field trip to Strike Zone in Aurora will be sent home Tuesday. This form must be turned in by at least Thursday, June 22. Students can bring money for the snack bar if they would like. The cost of bowling is covered by the school! Due to limited space, parents are not able to attend this field trip.
Crane City Pool Field Trip: We will be going to the Crane City Pool on Wednesday, June 21, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, prior to it opening to the public. If your child cannot swim, we do suggest sending your child with a lifejacket. Your child should wear his or her swimsuit under his/her clothes on pool days to school. Each student should also bring a towel, sunscreen and a complete change of clothes to change into after we return from the pool. We will return to school and eat lunch at school that day. You can send money with your child if they would like to purchase items from the concession stand!
Friday Fun Day: In addition to going bowling, students will need to bring their swimsuit, towel, a change of clothes and shoes that can get wet to school because the Crane Fire Department will be at school to continue our summer school tradition of spraying down the kids with the fire hose. This fun will take place at 2 PM on the playground! If students do not have a change of clothes, they will NOT get to participate, so please remember to send the necessary items listed above!
Report Cards: Your student will be sent home with a report card on either Thursday or Friday, outlining their progress during summer school. Great learning has taken place over the last few weeks!
Last Day: The last day of summer school is Friday, June 23. We are thankful to each of you for sending your student to learn!
Still Important...
Change of Clothes for Kindergarten and 1st Grade Students: Accidents sometimes happen at school. Please pack an extra pair of clothes including underwear in your child's backpack if he or she is in kindergarten or first grade.
Student Drop Off: The student drop-off line for ALL summer school students will be at the Crane High School entrance. See the aerial map below for directions. Students should be dropped off by 7:40 AM!
Student Pick Up: The parent pick-up line for Elementary students will be in the back of the building at the Library Media Center Entrance just like it is during the school year for kindergarten through 6th grade students. See the aerial map below for directions.
All Students Eat Breakfast and Lunch for FREE!: Students can bring their lunch from home if they would like, but every student will take a tray for breakfast and lunch.
Boys & Girls Club: Students going into 1st grade and up can be enrolled for the Boys & Girls Club for afterschool care until 6:00 PM each day (Tuesdays through Fridays). If your child is enrolled in Boys & Girls Club for the summer session will be bussed to First Baptist Church where BGC is being held. You will need to pick your child up from the church after school.
The cost for the summer school session is $15 per week per child. They also will have full-day care the last week in June and the month of July for $30 per week per child. Contact Chasity at the Club with any questions at 417-294-2468.
