Kindergarten Round-Up

Please allow approximately 2.5 hours for the entire registration and screening process. Your child must be present in order to participate in the screening process. Please no flip flops or sandals as your child will be asked to complete some gross motor tasks.

Parents may call the elementary office at 573-264-2131 to set up your appointment.

Temperature checks and health screening forms will be completed before entry. Masks will be required for all adults and highly recommended for children. Only one adult will be allowed to accompany the child. No siblings please. If you or your child are ill the day of the appointment, please call so we can reschedule.

Scott City R-1 will comply with all federal and local health recommendations.The health and safety of our community is our #1 priority.

Prospective Scott City Elementary students who will be five years old on or before August 1, 2021, may register for the 2021-2022 school year.

Round-Up Dates for SCE

Wednesday, April 7 from 8:00am-2:00pm

Thursday, April 8 from 8:00am-2:00pm

Location: Performing Arts Center, at the west end of the school campus.

You will NOT be allowed to register if you don't have the following documents.

* A legal birth certificate

* Up-to-date immunization record

* Guardian's drivers license

* Proof of residency dated within the last 30 days. Must have parent name and address listed on the bill/receipt. Must be one of the following: (utility bill/receipt, water bill/receipt, cable or satellite bill/receipt, house mortgage or rent bill/receipt)

* Guardianship papers/Custody decree (if applicable)

We recommend that your child participate in summer school. Summer school is a great way for your child to get familiar with school procedures and start meeting new friends. The summer school form will be included with your kindergarten packet and can be turned in during the round-up.

What is Kindergarten Round-Up?

Kindergarten Round-Up, also referred to as Kindergarten Registration, is the opportunity for parents and/or guardians to register their child for school.

What happens at Kindergarten Round-Up?

Parents and/or guardians will provide school personnel a copy of your child’s birth certificate, show proof of residency, provide your child’s immunization record, and complete enrollment forms. Kindergarten registration forms will be available that day and you will have time to complete the paperwork while your child is going through the screening process.

Should I bring my child to Kindergarten Round-Up?

Yes, your child needs to attend so that we can complete the screening.

When will I be notified of the name of my child’s kindergarten teacher for 2021-2022?

Class lists are typically available the Friday before the start of the school year.

Why is it important for me to register my child now?

Kindergarten Round-Up has many benefits. It helps us know how many kindergarten students to expect and it also allows us to get the students enrolled, processed, and plan for transportation. These are all essential in making preparations for the upcoming school year.
