Guidance News & the Return of Spartan of the Month
Monthly Focus: Generosity
This month students at SIS will be learning about generosity and how to be generous with their time, talents and gifts. Generosity is the act of giving without expecting anything in return. Student’s have been learning about empathy in their guidance units and will continue to understand that empathy in action is compassion. Students will be brainstorming in their classrooms ideas of how to be generous in their homes, schools and communities. Our Spartan of the Month will be chosen by recognizing those students who have continuously demonstrated acts of generosity through the school. Mrs. Holtz will award the Spartan of the Month prior to our winter break and they will be acknowledged at a school wide assembly.
Thank You, PTO!
Sincerely--
SIS Teachers and Office Staff

Winter Reminders
- Recess is held outdoors as long as the real feel is 10° or higher.
- Students can ALWAYS use encouragement to wear their coats, gloves, and hats outside.
- It's a good idea to write your child's name in his/her personal belongings.
- When snow begins to fall, students will need boots and snow pants to go off of the concrete during recess.
