Dear Rutgers Faculty,
Welcome to AY 2018-19! We hope you had a productive summer and had time to disconnect and enjoy family and friends.
We want to let you know about the variety of opportunities we are offering this year to support Rutgers’ faculty. Our programs and events aim to support you in increasing scholarly productivity, developing new connections and building and strengthening your network of mentors.
OASIS Leadership and Professional Development Program
OASIS is a semester long program for female faculty designed to accelerate career development and advancement through a series of interactive workshops, peer mentoring and individual coaching aimed at developing strategies and skills to increase scholarly productivity, build stronger networks and increase work-life balance.
In its tenth year, OASIS has had over 350 female faculty members participate university-wide.
Fall 2018: location: Camden, applications closed.
Spring 2019: location: New Brunswick - Now Accepting Applications.
PROGRAM FOR EARLY CAREER EXCELLENCE (PECE)
PECE is a program designed to support new faculty in building connections, increasing scholarly productivity, and in understanding diversity and inclusion in academia. The program includes career development workshops, senior and peer mentoring, and individual coaching.
Our 3rd cohort – open to early career faculty (1st 3 years) from all campuses and Chancellor Units – starts in Spring '19. Now Accepting Applications.

Attend the Rutgers Faculty Writing Retreats!
We've already held the first of 4 Faculty Writing Retreats in New Brunswick on August 27-28 but there are 3 more opportunities to attend in Camden, Newark and New Brunswick. (Complete details / registration below)
The goals of the writing retreats are:
- Provide dedicated space and uninterrupted time to make progress on writing goals
- Provide optional one-on-one writing feedback
- Provide food and yoga sessions as sustenance

Join a Writing Accountability Group!
What do you need to create more accountability for your writing?
Some faculty want to share space with other writers, some faculty prefer virtual connections to achieve accountability, productivity and support.
Check out the variety of WAGs on each campus as well as virtual groups to see if there is one that meets your needs or to decide you’d like help in starting your own.

COMMON INTEREST GROUPS
Common Interest Groups are faculty who come together based on common research interests or common experience (e.g., Academics Engaged in Health Disparity Research, Scholars of Color Navigating and Thriving in the Academy).
