Principals' Chat and "Beyond the Bake Sale" book discussion
Yesterday, Mr. Budisch and I participated in a chat sponsored by our PTO. It was well attended and we had a great time talking about our schools and answering questions. Thanks to the PTO for their sponsorship of this event. One thing we talked about was having a book study of the book "Beyond the Bake Sale". If you are interested in taking part in the discussion, please let me know so that I can order you a book. We will begin some time in October.

First Wednesday assembly was this week
This Wednesday, I had a chance to have an assembly with the students. Here is a link to the presentation entitled "Take a chance lately?" The students were awesome and enjoyed the videos, especially the TEDtalk by Phil Hansen, an artist with a neurological issue. Each of the students also completed this phrase- "I AM..."- which will be displayed in the Little Theater. There will be a photo posted on Twitter and Facebook in the near future. These monthly assemblies allow the staff to have over an hour of collaboration time to discuss students and curriculum.
Culvers Night is Wednesday, September 16
Please join us at Culvers off of Highway 83 on Wednesday, September 16th. Part of the proceeds go to the PTO for staff and student grants. There might even be a staff member who will serve you your food. Culvers is a great supporter of Merton Schools and your patronage is appreciated.
BoxTops Contest
Please help support our PTO with this simple fundraiser. Please cut out the BoxTops that can be found on many items that you purchase at our local grocery stores. Ask your family and friends to help out, too. Every year the PTO collects enough BoxTops to raise between $5000 and $10000 dollars. The contest begins shortly, so please save those BoxTops!
