Bernardo Parent Bulletin #31
March 12, 2023
Fun Run was a Huge Success!
We raised over $34,000 for our school! Our students had a blast throughout the entire campaign, especially this past Thursday where so many parents came out to cheer on the students as the made their way through the obstacle course.
If you know of someone who missed the donation deadline, there is still a few days to enter any final donation at MYBOOSTER.COM. Any donations that come in this week will still count towards prizes for the students.
Thank you for your incredible generosity and support for Bernardo School!
Kudos to our 5th Grade STEM Challenge Participants
Our students worked hard for several weeks leading up to the event, meeting with teachers during their lunch times as well as after school to train and prepare. While we did not win this year's competition, our students performed very well and we're so proud of our students who exhibited hard work, dedication, and resilience.
Bring the Family to Watch "Ratatouille!"
Our PTA will have goodie bags with pre-packaged popcorn, cotton candy, and fruit snacks for the first 200 kids who show up. We encourage families to also bring their own treats to enjoy during the movie.
New Book Drive for Hospitalized Children
For the month of March, as part of its annual Community Service project, our Kindergarten classes are coordinating a book drive to collect new children’s books to donate to local hospitals. If you would like to donate, please send in a new book to your child’s teacher by Wednesday, March 29th. All books will be delivered during Spring Break to children in our local area.
Opportunity to Recognize an Amazing Teacher
To celebrate Teacher Appreciation week, May 8-12, the San Diego Helpful Honda Dealers will be honoring four deserving teachers throughout San Diego County, each, with $5,000 worth of school supplies and materials.
If you would like to nominate a teacher who has gone above and beyond to give their students a memorable educational experience, please fill out this form by Friday, March 31.
