The Dallas County Health Department has asked that we remind you to take the following precautions to prevent cases of flu in our schools.

If your child has flu symptoms KEEP THEM HOME. Keeping sick students at home is the best way to keep flu from spreading to other students and staff.

• Monitor the health of your child and all family members closely.
  
• Check for flu symptoms every morning.
  
• Symptoms of flu usually include fever (greater than 100°F)) with cough or sore throat, sometimes runny nose, body aches, headache, vomiting or diarrhea.
  
• Children with symptoms of flu should not return to school until they no longer have fever for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.

Our TCE staff and PTO Board would love to have you all join us for our next PTO meeting. It gives you a chance to give input on school events and hear about all the great things happening at TCE. The following items are on the agenda:

• Budget Update
• Upcoming process for parents, staff, and learners to give feedback on the looping process
• Color Run Spring Fundraiser Updates
• Survey for parents to give input on future PTO meeting topics that would be informative and timely (Ex. Social emotional issues, Keeping your kids safe while using technology, How to best support your child's learning at home, etc.)
• Upcoming Movie Night
• Update on programs
• Book Fair
• Teacher Grant Celebrations

All items in our lost & found will be donated Friday, February 8th. Please stop by before then to claim any items your child is missing. Our lost & found is located in the hallway outside the cafeteria and contains jackets, shirts, gloves, water bottles, and lunch boxes.

Our Town Center Innovation Station is an upstairs classroom that contains materials and supplies that learners and staff are able to use for learning activities- specifically engineering tasks. We have several supplies that we are running low on, and we would love your help in restocking them. If you are a family that uses paper towels, as you finish up the roll, we would love to have the inner cardboard roll. We are also in need of yarn and fabric of any color and type. Thank you in advance for any donations. They can be sent to classroom teachers or the front office.
