Happy Friday PGE Families! Thank you for an incredible Open House event. It was busy, crowded, and terrific!

Car Riders

During drop off (in the morning) and pick up (in the afternoon) it is important that the adults stay in the car. This helps with supervision and efficiency. If your child is having trouble getting out of the vehicle or is not coming to the car when called we ask that you pull up to the tree so that we can keep the car rider line flowing.


Our car riders are dropped off on the side of the building from 8:30-8:55am. At 8:55am we close the car rider line and students must be dropped off out front. Any student entering the building after 9:00 am must be accompanied by a parent to the front office. The parent will have to sign the student in because any arrival after 9:00am is considered a tardy.

Please make sure that you have the new 2023-2024 car rider tag if you are picking your child up in the car rider line after school. The car rider tag should stay in your window until your child is safely in the car. Once your child/ren are in the car please remove the tag, so that our monitors will know that all students are accounted for and cars are ready to leave.

Student Placement

A great deal of time and thought goes into our student placements. Our staff works prior to the school year ending looking at academics, social, and various other factors when placing your child with their teacher each year. Then due to enrollment changes in certain grade levels or with staffing our teachers meet again to move students around taking into consideration all the factors listed above. Sometimes those changes lead to split classes, teacher movement, and student movement. Due to our large enrollment numbers movement requests are not possible. We know that is not ideal, but work diligently to make the best of these situations.


We are blessed to have incredible teachers at PGE. We work hard to ensure that every child is getting the same content, is safe, and loved.

1st Day of School

Though it is always an exciting time and families are eager to walk their students to class, our kindergarten families are the only ones that will be able to enter the building to walk their child/ren to class. Kindergarten families will need to sign in out front and then walk their child to their class. We ask that our kindergarten families walk your child/ren to the classroom, give a great big bear hug, and then quickly make your exit. We have observed that there are less tears when families make a quick exit.


Name Tags: If your family is new to PGE or any family that is worried about their child finding their way, we ask that you place a label on your child's shirt the first day identifying who the student is, grade level, and teacher. This will help our staff quickly guide our students to where they need to go and provide some familiarity by calling the student by their name. We are not asking for anything elaborate or fancy and will not require your child to wear it all day. We want to be as helpful and proactive as possible so that all our students have an incredible first day of school.


Transportation: Please make sure that you have shared with your child's teacher how your child is getting home on the first day and for the rest of the year. If you have not communicated this with the teacher, please send a note letting the teacher know.


We are looking forward to a phenomenal year at PGE. I, personally, am looking forward to building strong, positive relationships with our students, families, and community. Enjoy your weekend and be ready to have an incredible first day of the new school year on Wednesday, August 9, 2023!!
