Character Traits
Write character cards for characters in the story who demonstrate our Johnson Character Traits. Ms. McKay will announce character card examples weekly.

Make Predictions
Check out the prediction question of the week on Padlet and respond online by double clicking on the screen where the question is, and adding your prediction. Add your first name, last initial. Our padlets are also on our 1 book, 1 school webpage below this information.

Design a Book Cover
Use the Book Cover Creator from Read Write Think to create a book cover for The One and Only Ivan. You can create a front, full or front/back cover. Print your creation and turn it in to the library to be displayed.
The One and Only Ivan Fact Share
The One and Only Ivan is based on a true story. You can learn about things in the story that interest you and share your facts.
Your fact might be shared on the morning announcements.
Some things you might want to learn about:
- The real Ivan
- Gorillas
- Elephants
- Animals that do extraordinary things like draw or paint
- Animal communication
