Coming Soon to the LMC: TEDxDePereMiddleSchool

We are excited to host our first ever TEDx event, TEDxDePereMiddleSchool, in our library on Friday, May 27 from 8:00-3:00. We have an exciting day planned with 25 engaging student and community talks related to the theme "My Unique Contribution to the World." Only 100 tickets are available for those interested in attending; a limited number of tickets are still available by requesting them from the event website. Those who cannot attend can watch the entire event via this livestream link.

Scholastic BOGO Book Fair: May 16-20

The Scholastic BOGO book fair will be open in the library beginning Monday, May 16 and run through Friday, May 20. Students may shop at any time during the school day from 7:45-3:30 and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 3:30-9:00. Don't miss your chance to stock up on fabulous deals to jump start your summer reading list.

Lit Masters Book Club: Gathering to Discuss Great Books

This semester all students were invited to join our new book club, Lit Masters. Meeting once a month during a Wednesday homeroom, our group gathers to discuss each month's selected title. This past quarter, our group read Okay for Now by Gary D. Schmidt and Jack's Run by Roland Smith. We will meet again this month to discuss Full Tilt by Neal Shusterman and then once in June to have an end-of-the-year celebration. All students who love reading and want to meet with a group of like-minded students are encouraged to sign up for book club when we resume again in September.
