Principal's Message
Dear Eagle Crest Families,
With the exception of a few make-up tests we have officially finished our statewide CMAS testing for this year! I am so proud of our students for working hard and trying their best and I am grateful for our teachers and staff for keeping the day-to-day of school life running smoothly around the testing sessions.
This week we have made great gains in our fundraising and our Laps 4 Leadership event preparation. Please continue to register and donate - we are about 66% of the way to our goal of raising $20,000. The PTO uses this money to support extended learning opportunities for all students including field trips, hands-on experiences like Square State Skate, and books and learning materials for our classrooms. We are so thankful for your support!
I hope you have a great weekend!
Warmly,
Amanda

2022-2023 Class Placement
At Eagle Crest, we very much value the support and partnership from families as we work together to provide a thoughtful and well-rounded education in every classroom, every day. When creating classes, staff take into account the academic, social, and behavioral strengths and needs of each student as well as creating balanced classroom communities. We would like to ask families for your thoughts related to your child's strengths and needs in regards to their learning as we determine class placements for next school year. We welcome your insight and knowledge as we consider optimal placement. New this year, we will be collecting family input on the optional survey linked below. This survey will remain open until May 1st.
PTO Update
Dear Eagle Crest Families,
We are ONE WEEK away from our Laps for Leadership fun run on Thursday, April 28th! Families are invited to come watch the event in person this year (view the schedule). We need to reach 50% donation participation by TOMORROW for our students to win a popsicle party! Currently, only 167 students out of 441 have participated in our largest fundraiser of the year. We need your help to reach our $20,000 goal to be able to continue funding field trips and awesome in-school programming like Square State Skate, author visits, the free Kona Ice truck and so much more! Register online today and share your fundraising page with family and friends. Cash and check donations are accepted too! Check with your employer about corporate matching. Learn more at laps4leadership.com.

Mwebaza Sister School Update
Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Hansen had a great trip to Uganda! They worked with every class and every grade at all 4 of the Mwebaza Foundation’s partner schools. It was great to see all the kids finally back in school and so happy to be there. Pen Pal Projects were completed at all schools! At Mwebaza Annex, Eagle Crest’s partner school, they did a special project to learn about renewable energy and the environmental and health benefits of solar energy!
The students made solar ovens out of pizza boxes! Thank you so much Proto’s Pizza for donating all the boxes. They cooked s’mores and had so much fun. At Eagle Crest all grades are doing the same solar project in the Garage. Third, fourth and fifth grades are in the middle of their projects right now and kindergarten, first and second will start theirs the week of May 9th. Mrs. Hansen is working with Mrs. Schwirtz and all the kids are having fun working in groups to design a solar oven!
If you missed the blog Mrs. Cooper created while she was traveling you can still see it here:

Come check out the Art Fundraiser during Laps 4 Leadership. It’s a benefit for our sister school. Flyer: Eagle Crest Art Fundraiser

Support our VEX IQ Robotics Team’s Trip to the World Championships!
Our VEX IQ Robotics team will be headed to Dallas for the VEX IQ World Championships in one month! We are very excited to attend and to represent Eagle Crest as one of the few teams representing St. Vrain Valley Schools. If you are able, we would appreciate any support to help make this trip possible. Tax deductible donations can be submitted through RevTrak and will help defray our costs and further support robotics at Eagle Crest!
Thank you for your support!
