Approval of FY 2022 - 2023 Grand Island Public Schools Budget
On or before September 30th, all Nebraska school districts are required to hold a public hearing and adopt a budget for the ensuing school year. A public hearing was held September 26, 2022 at 6:30 PM seeking public comment on the proposed 2022-2023 school year budget. The Board must officially adopt the budget as an action item. Grand Island Public Schools' Chief Financial Officer, Ken Schroeder, is requesting that the Board approve the budget as proposed.
Approval of Hall County School District 2 (aka GIPS) Levy Resolution for Fiscal Year 2022-2023
All Nebraska school districts must hold a public hearing and adopt a tax levy resolution setting the ensuing school year levy rate. A tax levy hearing was held on September 22nd to obtain public input and comments on the proposed tax levy for the 2022-2023 school year, as part of the LB644 Hall County Joint Public Hearing. Ken Schroeder shared those comments from the public at the LB644 Hall County Joint Public Hearing with the superintendent and with the board's leadership. The attached tax levy resolution outlines the proposed fiscal year 2022-2023 tax levy necessary to operate the District. Ken Schroeder, Chief Financial Officer for GIPS, is requesting that the board approve the resolution to set the tax request for the 2022-23 FY.
