Dear Field Parents and Guardians,

We hope that you enjoyed our Holiday Sing this week. We are so proud of all our students! They did an excellent job sharing their songs with you all. Special thank you and congratulations to our music teachers, Mrs. Kapustka and Ms. Kwasny!

We hope you and your family enjoy a relaxing winter break. As a reminder, we are back in school on Monday, January 8th, and we look forward to seeing students for our first day of school in 2024!

Now that cold weather is here, please be sure that your children bring the appropriate winter weather gear (snow pants, boots, warm coats, etc), as we do go outside for recess most days. Please be sure these items are labeled with your child's name.

A few items:

• Now that colder weather has arrived, please ensure your child is dressed for the weather. We are outside most days for recess.

• Please be sure to follow the rules of the road during arrival and dismissal.

• Please no dogs during arrival and dismissal.

• We also wanted to share that Mrs. Voigt will be on a leave of absence upon our return from winter break. Ms. Dominica McNair will be our art substitute. I'll share her contact information when we return in January.

The Field Green Team would like to offer some tips for a Greener Holiday Season.

• Recycle your old holiday lights at the Public Works Service Center, 400 Busse Highway, now through March 1, from 7 AM to 3 PM.
• Niles & Park Ridge both provide Christmas tree curbside pickup. Park Ridge picks up the week of January 8 on your regular garbage day. Niles picks up the first two weeks of January. Residents should place their trees on the parkway next to the curb the night before their regular garbage collection day.
• Only plain cards and wrapping paper can be recycled (no glitter, fluff, ribbon, 3-D decorations, or batteries in musical cards). Flatten paper and cardboard boxes so they fit inside your cart with the lid closed. Materials need to stay dry.
  
• Give the gift of composting. Park Ridge residents have a discounted plan with Collective Resource Compost.
• Check out this link for other ideas on how to give green gifts and reduce your holiday waste.

Mark your calendars! Here are important dates regarding registration for the 2024-2025 school year.

• January 16th, 2024 - Registration begins for ALL District 64 students. (This includes *Preschool and Kindergarten)
• March 22nd, 2024 - Registration closes

*Parents that are registering their child for preschool for the 2024-2025 school year, will not be invoiced for tuition and fees at this time

More information will continue to be communicated to families. Plus, all important info will be posted on our Registration Page as well.

• December 25th-January 5th: Winter Break
  

• January 8th: Students return to school

PTO Membership

It’s never too late to join! PTO membership is available for purchase year-round. Please consider supporting the PTO by purchasing a membership, which supports a variety of programs and activities for students and teachers: Back-to-School Bash, VIP & Me Dance, Spring Carnival, and classroom parties; assemblies and field trips; teacher grants; equipment and facility improvements, etc. Plus, it’s a great way to stay informed about what's happening at school and connect with other parents as well! PTO members receive access to the PTO directory and a yard sign.
