Principal's Message
It is hard to believe that we are wrapping up our first quarter of learning! Next week is our last week of school before our scheduled fall break. Attendance is important next week as teachers are finishing up projects and assessments in preparation for report card grades. In addition, students will have an opportunity to spend their corebucks next Friday at our 1st quarter core celebration! We are looking forward to a great week ahead!
Today is the last day to order school spirit wear. Please see the flyer in this newsletter for more ordering information.
Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled from 11am - 7pm on Thursday, October 22. All conferences this year will be virtual. Students brought home a P/T Conference letter this week so that parents can choose the best time to meet with their child's teacher. Please complete this form and return it to your child's teacher by Monday, September 28 so that teachers can create their conference schedule and inform parents of scheduled times. We appreciate your help with getting these forms returned!
As I mentioned earlier, our Fall Break is coming up. Next Friday, October 2 is our last day of school before break. There is no school during the weeks of October 5 and October 12 so that students and families may enjoy their fall break.
The week of September 28 is a Blue Week for the related arts rotation. For Excel Classes, the week of September 21 is a White Week.
Thank you for your support of Lowell! Have a great weekend! Take care! Be safe!
Mrs. Griffin

Attendance for Virtual Students -- Attendance App
Attendance
Please continue to work with your teacher as we are fine tuning the use of the attendance app and/or Canvas!
K-4
All virtual students are now required to log-in to Canvas to validate their attendance every day of school. This includes direct instruction days, application days, and academic enrichment days. Please help your student log-in and submit their attendance each day.
1. Open the app called “V attendance” on your student’s iPad. It is black with a gold check mark.
2. Click the red button that says “Log into Google” to sign into the student’s google account. This is the same email and password that students use to log into Clever. Not sure about what this login information is? Email me!
3. You should now be logged into Canvas. Click on the box that says “Period 1”. It is outlined in yellow.
4. It will come up with a question about whether or not your student is attending that day. Click yes.
5. Click submit. You did it!
You may also continue to login through the Canvas app if it has been working for you. Please reach out with any questions! Thanks!

- Conferences will be held on October 22nd from 11am - 7PM.
- All conferences are virtual or done via the phone.
Students will not receive music, art, PE or STEM grades on this report card.
STEM was not offered for K-4 this quarter
Related Arts was not assessed this quarter.
- All grades should be available on Oct 2nd.
- Report cards will not be printed. Parents need to use the ParentVue App.
***The ParentVue app or link is where families will find grade information. This ParentVue link is a “how to” for families to use ParentVue.
PICTURE DAY FOR VIRTUAL STUDENTS
In early November, virtual students will be given the opportunity to have their picture taken. The virtual support team is working on what this will look like for families. After break, families will be given a survey to gauge interest in having their virtual student’s picture taken. Please be on the lookout for that after break.
Breakfast & Lunch Distribution for Virtual Students
Breakfast and lunch distribution for all VIRTUAL students will continue to be Tuesday and Friday mornings from 8:00am - 9:30am at Moorhead Community Resource Center (8400 East 10th Street). Also, we have added Tuesday evenings from 4:30-6:00 as an additional distribution time. I would also like to remind our 6-12 students that we are offering a take home meal for your VIRTUAL Application Day.

Covid Screening & Quarantine Information
CAR RIDER INFORMATION
Students will only be released on the sidewalk side/passenger side of the vehicle. Please make sure your child is sitting on that side of your vehicle. When the sidewalk is cleared of students, cars will be released by staff to exit back out onto Raymond Street. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE YOUR CAR UNTIL STAFF INDICATES IT IS SAFE TO MOVE. DO NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR RIDER LINE TO MANUVEUR YOUR CAR AROUND OTHER CARS. STAY IN LINE AND FOLLOW THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU SO WE CAN EXIT SAFELY. When the next row of cars are lined up along the sidewalk and are stopped and in park, staff will release the next group of students into the building.
OUR PRIORITY IS TO KEEP STUDENTS AND STAFF SAFE! PLEASE MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW THESE PROCEDURES AND TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF THE LOWELL STAFF. WE APPRECIATE YOUR COOPERATION.
Please make sure your child has backpack/supplies ready and that good-byes are said before it's time to exit the car. We will not have time to retrieve items or have prolonged good-byes in the morning. We appreciate your help with this!!
Review the map below to see the entry/exit location and the path for the car rider line. We appreciate your patience as we all learn this new system.
SMOKE-FREE CAMPUS
Please remember that our Lowell Campus is a smoke-free campus. There is no smoking allowed anywhere on Lowell grounds. This includes smoking in your cars while on the Lowell Campus. Please refrain from smoking on school grounds if you are picking your child up or dropping your child off at school. We appreciate your support with this policy!
