Here are my top 5 reasons to get involved in your child's school:

1) It's elementary school. Kids think it's COOL when their parents come to school to help. (They won't think this way forever, though).

2) You build relationships with school staff, which makes you more comfortable asking questions and solving problems, if needed.

3) Research shows that student academic achievement increases when parents/guardians are involved with school.

4) You model commitment, service, and giving to your community for your children.

5) You help to create memorable experiences, like dances and field trips, for your child, that are some of the things they will remember most about their elementary years.

This coming Tuesday, you have an opportunity to come to an EHSA meeting with our new board, where we'll be looking for anyone and everyone who might be interested in volunteering ever, to come and get connected. Learn some other parent faces. Laugh a little. Bring your children. And, hear from our 5K and 4th grade teachers! I hope to see you from 6-7pm on Tuesday, May 2nd in the Edgewood Library!

There are lots of field trips coming up and happening, and we're happy to have helped with funding for all of them.

• 1st Grade just went to the zoo, and is heading to First Stage soon.
• Kindergarten will go to the zoo.
• 4th Grade is headed to Old World Wisconsin. We're excited to bring this classic field trip back post-Covid!

Our next big support is Staff Appreciation Week, which is coming up May 8th-12th. We know our Edgewood Staff is Exceptional, and we want to make it memorable. We need your help!

• Monday we'll cater a breakfast.
• Tuesday we'll have a Taco Bar. Click HERE to donate toppings.
• Wednesday and Thursday we'll run a snack delivery cart. Teachers always love this! Sign-up HERE for the Snack Cart!
• Throughout the week, teachers will play a prize wheel game and do a "guess how many" game. Click HERE to donate gift card prizes.
