A special thank you goes out to Ben Forrester, Molly Wright and Maggie Longley who helped make sure the concert was a success by running the lights, the curtains and the sound!

Families should plan on bringing a blanket or some camp chairs and maybe a picnic style dinner do enjoy during the movie.
LINES FROM THE LIBRARY

An order form went home this week and is due back the Tuesday after vacation (4/25) to ensure the book order arrives in time. Please contact Ms. Luchies (aluchies@rsu1.org) if you have any questions. CLICK HERE if you need a new order form.
GATE DAY
Fourth and fifth graders in the GATE program returned to BMS on April 12th to continue their investigation of ice. This workshop featured three activities. Students began with an investigation reminding them of the impact of salt on ice which segued into a conversation about where we use salt on ice in our world and making hypotheses on what problems that may cause for the environment and then learned through two separate articles about the pros and cons of the use of salt on our roadways. Following the group discussion, students formed their own opinions about whether or not the use of salt should continue and what might be some alternatives.
Our second investigation took us to Indiana Dunes National Park. Students learned how the Great Lakes were formed during the glacial periods through a simulation lab. The final activity involved glacier spotting on Google Earth. Students practiced using latitude and longitude to find specific places on Google Earth. Some students were able to identify what country the glacier was spotted in as well as use tools to measure the length of a specific glacier, or find the highest point in elevation.
We will meet again in May at the Bath Freight Shed for our final GATE Day of the year!
BMS YARD SALE: 4/29

Athletes and coaches for various sports will mentor young athletes, and show them what the sport is about! The following sports will be provided: Track, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Football, Tennis, Basketball, Softball/Baseball, and Hockey. Snacks will be provided. SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT
- The latest edition of The Woolwich Word is out! CLICK HERE to read more!
- Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart) is now run as a program through PE class, instead of a single event that parents may remember. Every student who registers will receive a prize, and those who fund-raise can earn more prizes. Students are learning about heart health in class, which is the main goal. All funds raised go to support the American Heart Association. Fundraiser money is due back by Friday, 4/28.
- On Wednesday AND Friday we ran a fire drill! Both days, everyone followed directions, exiting the building silently and respectfully. We are SO PROUD of how seriously our students and staff take these safety drills.
- Mark the date! On May 1st WCS will have some "celebrity scoopers" at Gelato Fiasco in Brunswick. Stay tuned to learn more!
- IT'S OFFICIAL: The last day of school for K-12 will be Thursday, June 22! This will be a half day for students, with dismissal happening at 11:55am. The last day of school for Pre-K will be June 15th!
This is the place to get all your WCS-branded clothing and accessories.
