Seniors! Have You Completed Your FAFSA?
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is now open! Any senior planning to attend a 4-year college, 2-year college, community college, or trade school must complete the FAFSA with their parent/guardian. The FAFSA Form is open on a soft launch, which means it will be available for short periods of time. If the FAFSA is unavailable when you try to access it, try again later. Some families feel like they "don't qualify" for federal aid because they "make too much money." You should still complete the FAFSA! It is required if you want free community college and for some scholarships. It's also the only way to get approved for the student federal school loans which provide the best interest rates.
**Please note that an adult is required to sign the child's FAFSA, but is in no way required to pay for the child's education.**
**Please also note, that the FAFSA should be completed by February 1st to ensure that deadlines are met and the maximum amount of financial aid available is offered to you.**

Junior Planning Meetings
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Junior year is an important year for students. It is the time when students and their families should be planning for life after high school graduation. To assist with this process, Junior Planning Meetings will be held between the hours of 8:00am and 3:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (last appointment at 1:00pm). Meetings will last roughly 45 minutes, are held in the School Counseling Office, and will address students’ individual post-graduation plans.
Please note that these are required for all juniors and a parent/guardian must attend. To schedule your meeting, go to https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050E45A9A92BA5F58-46955538-class. You can also schedule via email to strombino@blmfld.org or phone at 860-286-2630 x1016.
It is strongly encouraged that parents make every effort to attend in person. However, I will offer a virtual option if this better meets your needs. If you prefer to meet virtually, make a note in the comment section of sign-up genius and a link will be sent to your email.
