This year Box Tops for Education has created an even easier way to earn money for our school- a new phone app! Simply download the app, find our school to complete the profile and start scanning in receipts from your favorite grocery store. No need to clip anymore!

If you have been collecting Box Tops over the summer, no need to worry! We are sending home a sheet with each child for them to attach any Box Tops you may already have. We are able to earn money through the app and through actual Box Tops that are turned in.

If your child is absent, please remember to email the front office or send in a note with your child upon their return. The email and/or note will need to contain your child's name, date(s) of absence, and reason for the absence. Our attendance clerk is Sherri Kingsley skingsley@coppellisd.com. We will keep these for our records. Per the district attendance update that was sent out in my newsletter last week, vacations are no longer excused.

Our district automated system will send out attendance alerts for any three consecutive days missed. Please know that the district automated system is not timed perfectly with when our campus system receives updates for notes/emails sent in. Please disregard the message if you have already turned in a note/email or plan to do so upon return.

When you visit our school, you will notice the doors to our front office are locked during school hours. This is a new district-wide protocol. Please feel free to push the chime button to alert our office staff and gain access to the front office.

Our fall picture day is coming soon! All learners will have their school photo taken Thursday, September 5th. All children received a flyer that shares how to go about ordering school photos.

During next week's Curriculum Night, our counselor will have a table at the end of the classroom hallways for parents to have a chance to preview the district's guidance materials including items such as Play It Safe, Too Good for Drugs, and read aloud books.

This Monday morning, we will have special guests in the car loop. The Coppell High School varsity volleyball girls will join us in greeting our TCE kids in both the front and side car loop.

The Coppell High School volleyball program is also hosting a CCVB Elementary School Night on Tuesday, August 27th. All elementary-age kids wearing their school shirts get in free, there will be a serving competition prior to varsity match to win CCVB shirts, and the varsity team will be signing autographs in the foyer.

Below is a link to a letter from our district Director of Research, Accountability, and Assessment, Debbie Youngs. The letter is to inform you of state testing that begins in third grade. There is some additional information for parents of 5th grade learners. At Town Center we know that your child is not defined by any one test. The team at Town Center loves your child and we will pour into him/her to insure that he/she is getting all needs met. We are looking forward to an amazing 2019/2020 school year.

Please plan on joining us for our TCE Curriculum Night. Your child's teacher will share highlights from the year ahead including grade level skills they will be working on, learning experiences they will have, and ways you can partner in your child's education.
