Principal's Message
Dear Terra Linda Families,
I am keeping this week's message short as I know you have been receiving many messages from our District recently. Thank you for continuing to read these messages to stay informed. We also have a a lot of great information in the articles below!
Briefly, I wanted to check in on math and library cards:
- How are you doing encouraging your children to complete at least one lesson in Dreambox each afternoon/evening? This should only take about 10 minutes. Thank you for your efforts!
- Students received their own public library cards recently. Have you visited the library yet to use their card? Check out the article below for special tour dates!
Thank you for all you do to support our school and our students. They are growing so much right now!
With appreciation,
Christy

Meals at Terra Linda
Did you know you may apply for Meal Benefits any time during the school year? If you should have a decrease in household income, an increase in household size, or become unemployed, or receive basic food, FDPIR or TANF, you may be eligible for benefits and may fill out an application at that time.
If you're not sure if you will qualify, please apply. The process is fairly simple. Go to https://www.beaverton.k12.or.us/departments/nutrition-services/meal-benefits for application information.
Only nutrition services staff have information about whether students qualify for benefits, and they do not share that information with students or other staff at our school. In addition, we have many students who eat lunch in our cafeteria who purchase their meals and many students who receive free meals. There is no way for students or staff to know the difference. If you have any concerns, please contact us at school.
Our goal is to have every Terra Linda student who is eligible for Meal Benefits actually receive these benefits. Once eligible, you may be able to access other benefits, too:
- Comcast Internet Essentials
- Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District
- Chromebook Insurance Waiver
- School Fees

Help us purchase Sphero Bolts! We are over half way there!
Terra Linda has been awarded an Intel Project Award for the Sphero Bolt Project. Intel will contribute 50% of our goal toward this project! It will be up to our Terra Linda community to fund the other half of the project. Our total goal for the project is $2,000. Intel has already donated $1,000! Here is the direct link to the project. The project is also linked on the Beaverton Education Foundation site.
All students will have an opportunity to use the Sphero Bolts!
Please give any amount to help us reach our goal so our students may begin using the Sphero Bolts very soon!
Colon Cancer Fundraiser - March 16-20
More than 25,000 US cases of Colon Cancer are diagnosed every year. A community member’s loved one passed away recently from Colon Cancer causing loss and heartbreak. Karly Fuller, Zoe Norris, Reese Bennett, Elise Sullivan, Jane Olsen, Katelin Hayson, Miles Hefty, and Mika Bhattarai want to help. These fifth graders are asking you to donate clean, empty cans and bottles the week of March 16-20. Our goal is to raise $300. Kids will get a “Save the booties” bracelet for making a donation while supplies last. All efforts are appreciated and we ask you to encourage your child to bring in cans and bottles. We will have tables set up by the lobby and the bus/walking area if you wish to donate. We have trash bags to put your cans/bottles in so your child can just put them in their backpack or bring a bag. We are donating to the Colon Cancer Coalition, a place that helps prevent Colon Cancer.
Please bring in cans and/or bottles and help stop Colon Cancer Today.
OBOB Final Battle
Congratulations to all eight OBOB teams! Big congratulations to the champion team - Terrific Turtles! Thank you to the PTC for supporting this event.
