Curriculum Corner
Hello Oak Grove Community,
We have had the pleasure of hosting several teachers from different districts who are interested in learning from the strong instructional practices implemented at Oak Grove. Recently we’ve had visitors here to see our math programs, our reading program, our writing structure as well as visitors to learn more about our SEL program and technology course options. These continuous requests to visit our school are a testament to the work that our teachers have done to make Oak Grove the best place to be. Congratulation to our staff! "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." – Helen Keller
Social Emotional Learning
Students in grades K-5 have started our Emotion Management Unit. This year, we are incorporating the Zones of Regulation curriculum, by Leah M. Kuypers. Don't forget to check your child's Class Dojo for short videos, pictures and information about how we can regulate our emotions. Ask your child before school and after school which zone they are in!
- Green Zone ~ Feeling okay, calm, focused, happy ~ READY TO LEARN
- Yellow Zone ~ Frustrated, silly, excited, nervous ~ SOME CONTROL
- Red Zone ~ Angry, mad, terrified ~ OUT OF CONTROL
- Blue Zone ~ Bored, sick, sad, tired ~ MOVING SLOWLY
For more information, log into your child's DOJO account. Have a wonderful week!
