We had a great first few days seeing our students and meeting our families. Staggered entry was a great success as it allowed us to build relationships with our students in a smaller setting. We would like to welcome our new families to École Our Lady of the Rosary School!

In the spring, we asked our parent community for feedback on our school's communications. Based on this feedback, we are moving to a new "digital" newsletter. This digital format reduces the amount of links and increases the potential to add visuals. We will provide more information on the results of the survey in the upcoming weeks.

Our school newsletter is called Week at a Glance (WAAG). The link for the newsletter will be sent at the end of the school day each Friday via text/email. It will also be posted on our website each Friday and on Facebook every Saturday.

We will seek feedback on the format of our new newsletter after Christmas. We are always wanting to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our school community.

Our School Council Is looking for new members with a positive mindset who value teamwork to make our school the best it can be. By volunteering your time, you not only support your child succeed but also other students and our amazing teachers and support staff. We invite you to join us in making a big difference for the ÉOLRS family.

Our School Council meets approximately once/month. The first meeting/AGM will be held on September 18 from 9:00-11:00 am at the school. All are welcome to attend!

The Sylvan Lake RCMP will be hosting a Criminal Record Check evening in conjunction with the Town of Sylvan Lake's Fun Fest Information Night. This will be held at the Nexsource Center on September 7 from 4:30-7:30 pm.

All parent volunteers at our school require a Criminal Record Check. If you are wanting to get a criminal record check, please be sure to pick up a letter from our school office in advance. This letter states that you are volunteering at our school so there is no charge.

Our Lady of the Assumption annual yard sale will be held:

• Thursday, September 7, 2:00-7:00 pm
• Friday September 8, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm
• Saturday September 9, 8:00 am to 12 noon.

On Friday there will be a bake table and will include produce and preserves and Saturday morning the Velasco family are serving and selling spring rolls. We have also been approved for a 50/50 draw which started Aug. 26.

Our Lady of the Assumption Parish would like to ensure that our parishioners' registration information is up to date and that all parishioners are registered. Registering will keep you up to date on current happenings. You will also be eligible to vote on anything in the parish that requires a vote. Later in the fall there will be a presentation on the possibility of a new church and at some time there will be a vote. Only those registered will be able to vote."
