New Albany High School
Bi-Weekly Update - August 29, 2022
Principal's Message
I want to take a moment to thank everyone for their efforts in making this an excellent start to the school year. Working together as a school and community has allowed us to set our students up for success. We look forward to our continued work together throughout the school year.
As part of our process to make sure students are successful, we have created videos that were shown during Nest to make sure all students understand the expectations and are aware of our student services. Here are the two videos that we watched in Nest, last week.
Class Video - Part 1 - Student Expectations
Class Video - Part 2 - Student Support Services
A few additional updates:
1. School fees for all courses will be posted on Friday, September 2nd. You can view and pay for all fees in Pay Schools Central.
2. As part of our dress code, all students are expected to wear their student ID and E+R=O lanyard while they are on campus. Students who need to request a new ID may do so by completing this form.
3. We continue to work through the traffic flow for arrival and dismissal. High school students may be dropped off in the morning in the Fodor parking lot loop, HS/MS loop, or the McCoy loop. Students may be picked up from school in the Fodor parking lot loop. Please do not use the tennis court lot off of Kardules Way to drop-off or pick-up students.
Thank you,
Mr. Kraemer

SchooLinks Introduction
Nest Calendar
Nest is our proactive program that is designed to support student achievement, student growth and student well being. A time for everyone to press pause and take a few minutes away from academics to build relationships, check-in, and gain access to school information.
Nest meets the requirements set by the Ohio Department of Education to provide Tier 1 Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), which serves as the foundation for behavior and academic excellence.
Nest also protects academic time so that we can do non-academic activities. These activities can be found on our Nest calendar weekly. Below you will see some of the activities that occur in Nest:
Daily announcements
Safety drills (fire, tornado, lock down, etc.)

Back-to-School Resources
Returning to school can be both an exciting and stressful time for students. To make for a smooth transition these resources below from Child Mind to assist your student with a strong start to the year.
Mental Health and Substance Use Prevention and Support Services
Concord Counseling’s prevention and support services are designed to inform, educate, demonstrate skills, and reduce risk behaviors in students. Through social and emotional learning, students will acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Prevention clinicians provide short-term individual or group skill-building sessions to assist a student with a particular concern. Mental health specialists provide extra support to students and help them develop strategies to change their behavior or cope with difficult situations. All clinicians provide suicide/self-harm risk assessments and can link families to community-based counseling services. Referrals for prevention and support services must be made through a school counselor or administrator.
Substance Use Consultations Available with Concord Counseling Services
Concerned about someone or have questions about substance abuse? Concord Counseling Service is here for you. New Albany High School families, students, and staff, are invited to reach out to us by completing this form for a no-pressure, no cost, consultation about what could be helpful for you and your loved ones.
