Breakout EDU Escape Room

Tech Tribe Badge Challenges allow teachers the opportunity to learn and integrate tech tools in their classrooms. Completing the challenge for a tech tool makes teachers eligible for a "Tech Tribe" badge for their work. Badges can be proudly displayed by their classroom door to let everyone know how fabulous they are at integrating technology! Teachers work hard at their own pace to complete Challenges such as Google Classroom, Google Drive, Poll Everywhere, Nearpod, Pear Deck, Plickers, Digital Citizenship, and many more. Once you have completed the challenge, complete a Badge Form to receive a Tech Tribe Badge as a reward and recognition for your commitment to moving our students toward college and career readiness.

Breakout EDU is an immersive game platform for learners of all ages. In Breakout EDU games, players work collaboratively to solve a series of critical thinking puzzles in order to open a locked box. Each Breakout EDU kit can be used to play hundreds of games.

The educator will use a Breakout EDU game in their classroom.

1. Intro to Breakout EDU (YouTube)

2. Go to www.breakoutedu.com and click "Learn More".

1. Contact Ashley Cieri or Debbie Needham for the Breakout EDU login.

2. Login to Breakout EDU and decide on a game to use in your classroom. Make sure to click "More" to see all games. Your selected game MUST BE content related.

3. Email Ashley Cieri or Debbie Needham to receive the box and set-up a date to use Breakout EDU in your classroom.

4. Read through the directions/materials necessary and prepare the materials.

5. Reset the locks to the new codes needed for the game you chose. This site is useful to help: http://www.breakoutedu.com/locks

6. Set up and play the game with your students! Invite Ashley or Debbie to attend. (This will be part of your badge submission.)

1. Insert hyperlinks to at least three photos of your students participating in the Breakout EDU. These can be submitted as three separate links or one link to a shared Google folder where all the pictures are located.

2. Under Comments, Include the name of the game you used in your classroom and who helped you plan your Breakout EDU lesson (Ashley Cieri or Debbie Needham).

3. Under Comments, list at least one challenge you encountered and one success you had in the process.
