PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

It might have been a short, 4 day week, but it was a jam-packed week at JMMS. Inside classrooms students were setting up classroom libraries, making presentations about their goals for their financial futures, deeply studying the different types of cells, and even making delicious tacos and arepas! All across campus students are putting up campaign posters as student body election season has arrived! We are excited for the elections!

This Friday, everyone was wearing yellow and gold in support of childhood cancer awareness.

Next week is Spirit Week, and there will be a different theme each day, starting with patriot day to commemorate the events of 9/11/02.

This Monday, JMMS will hold its make-up picture day, so if you missed picture day this past week, come ready for your school photo.

ASB Spirit Week

Next week our JMMS ASB will be sponsoring a week long Spirit Week! Each day will have a different theme and students are encouraged to dress up to show their Dust Devil Spirit!

Monday 9/11: Patriot Day - Wear Red, White and Blue

Tuesday 9/12: Dress Up Like a Biker or a Surfer

Wednesday 9/13: Wear Sports Attire or Jerseys

Thursday 9/14: Wear Western Attire

Friday 9/15: Hawaiian Day

Coffee with the Principal

This Friday we will host our first Coffee with the Principal. All parents are invited to join Mr. Bailey and Mrs. McIntyre for some coffee and conversation in room 302 after drop off at 8:15am. This is a wonderful time to chat about all things JMMS and to hear a bit about the awesome happenings in our school community. We value our school-family connection and this is just one way to make that connection happen! Please join us! #dustdevilpride

After School Sports

Coach Fazekas and Coach Cortes will be starting after school sports on Monday, September 11. Coach Fazekas will have Flag Football on Mondays and Volley Tennis on Thursdays. Coach Cortes will have Cross Country on Mondays and Soccer on Thursdays. If you are interested, please fill out the permission slip and return it to one of the coaches. You can get a permission slip from the PE department, the front office, or you can print from the link below.

Birthday Wishes

If you want to wish your Dust Devil a Happy Birthday either on the marquee or in our morning announcements (or both!) you can fill out this form and turn it in to Miss Lindsay in the front office. Please give us 48 hours notice before the day you would like the message to appear. You can get the form from the front office as well, or print one out from this newsletter.

ASB DANCES!

Our first of the year ASB sponsored dances have been scheduled. ASB will host the 7th and 8th graders for a dance on Friday, September 15 during periods 7 and 8. The 6th graders will have their first dance on Friday, October 6 during periods 7 and 8. Any parents willing to help out during the dance can reach out to Mrs. Tompkins at dtompkins@alpineschools.net. Thanks ASB for getting those dances scheduled for our students! #dustdevilpride

2023-2024 Yearbook

The JMMS Yearbook is available for purchase online for a pre-order price online. Soft cover books will be $35 and hard cover books will be $45. You can purchase books online at http://www.yearbookordercenter.com. You will use the code 8280 to access the JMMS page to place your order. This price is only good while yearbooks are sold online so be sure to order to guarantee that your child has a yearbook in June!
