ILT Notes
We are trying to streamline how we share communication. One of our jobs in ILT is notetaker. Ms. Binder will share the notes within a day or two of our ILT meetings on MH Private and we can also put it in the newsletter. (PDF Attached below)
Please let Ms. Binder or your team leader know if you have any questions!
Assessment Timeline
Assessment timelines and windows are on our MH Testing Calendar in google. If you’re interested in seeing the year’s required assessment timeline, it is here. Just a reminder that we have an in house deadline of one week prior to the MCPS deadline.
Interim & Report Card Dates
We will be sharing the Meadow Hall Grading expectations asap. For now, here is the timeline of when interims and report card grades are due and when they’re distributed.

Covid-19 Updates
From our Chief Medical Officer...
"We ask everyone to continue to reinforce healthy habits, like good handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when sick. Please also review updated COVID-19 procedures for 2023-2024 and share them with staff members. A few key links:
· MCPS Internal Resource – COVID-19 Online Toolkit for Administrators
· Fall 2023 COVID-19 Process Overview for Schools (one-pager)
· InteliSwab COVID-19 Rapid Test Extended Expiration Dates
· Fall 2023 COVID-19 Positive Case Quick Guide
Updated COVID-19 procedures are also available on the MCPS public website, and can be shared with your community:
· Things to Know: Back to School community message (8/24/2023)
· MCPS COVID-19 Information Portal
Please note that online self-reporting has been discontinued, and the COVID-19 school dashboard is no longer available. The Back-to-School message on the Website Information Portal describes changes to COVID-19 school procedures for this school year.
We continue to rely on core health measures to prevent transmission of infectious disease in schools - staying home when sick, good handwashing, respiratory hygiene, and vaccination. COVID-19-specific strategies may be additionally recommended or required in high-risk situations (e.g., screening testing for outdoor education overnight trips) or local outbreaks when transmission is increased (e.g., testing and masking during a classroom outbreak to prevent further spread in that group).
Please remember that we do not require students to mask who cannot safely and consistently do so due to young age, medical condition, or developmental disability. Masking is only one of multiple measures we use to prevent transmission of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses.
These measures are based on CDC COVID-19 recommendations for K-12 schools, per joint guidance from the Maryland State Department of Education and Maryland Department of Health (MDH), and MDH’s school guide for Communicable Diseases. Community health procedures for MCPS are determined in partnership with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services.
PTA News
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them on their journey to becoming lifelong readers. AND—as always—every purchase at the Fair benefits our school.
Here’s what you need to know about the big event, which will take place from September 15-22 in the Media Center:
Say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Book Fair online. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Every online purchase will also benefit our school.
The MHES PTA will be hosting an Ice Cream Social on Thursday, September 21, from 6:30 to 7:30pm. You will have the opportunity to enjoy ice cream and also shop at the Book Fair during that time.
All teachers are granted a $5 off $20 coupon to redeem at the fair.
Create an eWallet and a Teacher Wish List, so students’ families can donate to help stock classroom shelves. Send all Teacher Wish Lists to greenlee.erin@gmail.com for distribution via the PTA mailing lists, etc.
Fill out shelf talkers recommending their favorite books to students and their families at the fair.
