Horace Mann Academy
February Parent Newsletter SY22
Greetings Horace Mann Families,
February is Black History Month and it's never too early to begin celebrating and teaching our students about black leaders, families and communities. This month, Horace Mann received and distributed culturally relevant text for all classrooms. Culturally relevant text help students to understand who they are and where they come from because they connect with the students' lives and experiences. Students are able to see themselves and their culture represented in the books they read.
Look for culturally relevant text when building your child's home library. You can find them at your local library, bookstore, Amazon.com. Click on the link below to view more text to select.
