Notes from the East Hill Principal

This page provides thoughts and commentary from Susan Meskos, the Principal of East Hill Elementary School in the West Genesee Central School District.

We would like to graciously thank our EH PTA and all those who donated soup cans for our SOUP'er Bowl Drive this year. There were many generous donations. By the looks of it East Hill is rooting for the Cincinnati Bengals!

New York State continues to support Covid-19 testing and has been very supportive in supplying testing kits to schools. With that, test kits will be available for all interested students and their families (ONE test kit per student). We will be distributing them on the following dates and times:

Thursday, February 17:

Parent Pick-up (Dismissal):

• Staff members will distribute to those interested as students are being dismissed to their cars.

Thursday, February 17 and Friday, February 18:

Main Office Pick Up

• Families may come and pick up a test kit at the main office anytime between 9:30-2:30

Please understand Rapid Antigen Tests are only acceptable when a student is not showing signs or symptoms of illness (Asymptomatic). For any families that are not a part of the pick-up line and/or can not make it to the school, you may send a note or contact the office to give the building permission to send a kit home with your child on Friday, February 18.

Please note there will be no school from February 21-February 25 as it is "Winter Recess."

At a recent meeting of the Board of Education, a proposal was accepted which will slightly alter the March school calendar in order to provide professional development opportunities for our teachers and staff. Be sure to mark your calendar accordingly, and prepare for daycare if needed; on Tuesday March 22, 2022, East Hill staff will participate in professional learning, and there is NO SCHOOL for East Hill students on this date.
