DUAL ENROLLMENT MONEY!!!
Attention Caroline County Public Schools families with a child currently taking dual enrollment courses at Chesapeake Community College. Based upon a recent change in a Maryland statute, families of students taking approved courses through dual enrollment are no longer responsible for the tuition costs for the Fall and Spring semesters of 2022-2023 school year. Caroline County Public Schools is working with Chesapeake Community College to direct all tuition bills to us instead of to students and families. In the coming weeks, Chesapeake Community College will initiate a refund to any families who have already paid tuition for this semester. Our respective finance teams are working to ensure that dual enrollment students' tuition costs are satisfied. Please communicate with your child's school counselor with any questions or requests for further information.
Thank you.

CRHS OCTOBER 2022 STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
October 2022
Leah Vanderhoff is the Student-of-Month for the Class of 2026! Throughout October, Leah was nominated by two separate teachers for obtaining her goals and consistently going above and beyond. Mr. Shaheen said that “Leah goes above and beyond every time she completes her work. Every assignment that she turns in is completed with purpose and attention to detail.” In addition, Mrs. Price noted that “Leah consistently tries her hardest during class. She always puts her all into any assignment that she is given, frequently doing more than is asked. She helps her peers when they need it and is one of the kindest students I know.” Leah was very excited and surprised to be nominated and awarded student of the month!
Kelly Harding is the Student-of-Month for the Class of 2025! Kelly was nominated by both Mr. Shelly and Mr. Ireland during the month of October. Mr. Shelly nominated her for “going above and beyond in her work turning assignments at a high quality and often well before the due date.” Mr. Ireland also mentioned that “Kelly continues to go above and beyond on her Supreme Court assignments.” She is really working to obtain her goals! After her time at CRHS, Kelly would like to go to Penn State University for a science degree involving forensics. It’s no wonder, then, that Kelly’s favorite class so far has been Biomed with Mr. Shelly. She says, “I like doing labs and the projects and this class really expands on the different careers and jobs I could do.” Being Colonel TOUGH to Kelly means doing above the minimum. She also counted having heart as the most important, saying: “Many people are extremely rude towards others without knowing their situation. We need to learn to have heart and treat others how we want to be treated.” FUN FACT: Kelly loves to read!
Faith Thomas is the Student-of-Month for the Class of 2024! Two teachers nominated Faith for going above and beyond during October. Mr. Shelly stated that “Faith goes above and beyond in her work. She encourages and helps all students in the classroom.” Also, Mrs. France thanked Faith for “stepping in to help with volleyball concessions. She saw the need and filled it without being asked to do so.” According to Faith, her favorite teacher is Ms. Daffin because “ she is a fun teacher and she is easy to talk to.” When asked about being TOUGH, Faith said “It means to always help others out and treat them with respect along with doing the best I can with school. The most important part for me is having heart because I enjoy helping others and trying to make their day better.” After Colonel, Faith wants to go to college to become an elementary school teacher. FUN FACT: Faith loves to bake!
Carter Walters is the Student-of-Month for the Class of 2023! Carter was nominated by his Speech and Presentation teacher Mrs. Michaluk for treating others with respect and having heart. Mrs. Michaluk recounted: “He gave very specific compliments to his classmates after each speech. His positive attitude and kindness to others make a big difference in our class.” This is a great way to show school spirit! In his senior year, Carter’s favorite class is his career internship because he “ gets to go to work every day and get a good grade for it.” This career internship will serve Carter well when he goes on to his future plans of becoming a steamfitter and professional welder. TOUGH, to Carter means “being an outstanding student, and the most important part to me is treating others with respect.” FUN FACT: Carter has been welding since he was 15 years old!
